*Natalie's POV*
Christmas Eve, one of my favorite holidays. Mom and Dad decided to visit our grandparents, we decided to stay at home since it was going to be Damien's first Christmas with all of us.
It was so surreal, getting to be alone with Scarlet for the first time in almost two months, ever since she met Jordana they'd been completely wrapped up in each other.
"Okay, so Mom said we just need the tree, ornaments are in the garage." I was so pumped, considering we were having a joint Christmas, we wanted everything to be perfect for our siblings. "Thanks for coming, by the way."
"Yeah, it's been a long time since we hung out, and I'm really sorry for that. I just... Jordana's amazing, I never thought I'd feel this way about someone before." I just nodded, but she kept on. "Jordana's family usually spends Christmas all together, everyone makes a lot of food and they just spend time together since usually they don't have a lot for the holiday."
"That's nice."
"What?" She stopped, she knew I had issues.
"Nothing."
"You don't like her?" Her tone was accusatory, but I shook my head.
"I never said I didn't like her, I'm sure she's great, Scarlet. It's just..."
"Just what?"
"I haven't really gotten to see you or talk to you, you stopped returning my texts, I mean...what am I supposed to think? When you messaged me the other day about getting together I was actually... I don't know, surprised."
"You always do this." She crossed her arms, looking out the window.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"You know I support all of your relationships, everything you do, but then when I get into a relationship you're always... so judgmental!"
"You ditched me, Scarlet. When everything happened with the drugging, Logan taking off, you were nowhere to be found. But I did see photos of you and Jordana on Instagram, photos of you and Jordana on Facebook, everywhere I went, there you two were. I was alone. All I'm saying is that I miss you, and I wish that we talked more than we do now. I don't know what happened with us."
"I'm sorry," Scarlet sighed, "I know I was gone, and I felt bad about it. But you seemed okay, and then I just forgot to text you... or I was spending time with Jordana."
"Now we're here, so maybe we should just focus on spending some time together." I stopped the car at the parking space I found, and we went in the store. A few awkward moments passed, then we started finding things we liked, pointing them out to each other.
Finally, when we found a tree, we weren't sure exactly how we were going to get it in the car. It was 8 feet of pure Christmas spirit, so we called Kellan.
"You called me just to pick up a tree?"
"Yeah, since you have a truck, absolutely. You're free labor," Scarlet laughed, "Plus you're dating my brother so you kind of have to be nice, or else."
Kellan rolled his eyes at me, "Oh, I'm so scared." A few minutes later the tree was hooked up and off to our house, so we took some extra time getting things.
"Should we make hot chocolate?" I asked, picking up a few bags of chocolate chips and marshmallows. Scarlet's eyes bulged, tossing a couple of boxes of cocoa powder in the cart and some vanilla. We were having so much fun, it felt like no time had passed between us.
"Who'd you get for Secret Santa?" Scarlet asked, then sighed, "I got AB, honestly I didn't know what to get him. Do you think he'll be okay with some cologne and a gift card?" I nodded.
