*12 Hours Earlier*

*Damien's POV*

I felt the music coursing through me, I had the box in my hand. I was going to propose, I got the ring a few months ago, I was never so certain of something in my life. I wanted Kellan, and I wanted him for forever.

Everything changed when I watched him walk back inside, his jaw clenched, and he went to his room and slammed the door. Alex's worried voice came up behind me.

"Hey, man have you seen my sister?"

"Yeah, I thought she went outside with Logan."

Alex shook his head, "She couldn't have, her jacket is still here. It's raining outside now, it's pretty bad."

I was distracted, "I don't know, did you look outside?"

Alex grabbed my arm, pulling me into the closet next to us. A few seconds went by, and the light came on.

"Listen to me." His eyes were locked with mine now. Now I noticed his jacket was soaked, as well as his hair from the rain. "I'm saying, my sister is missing. Your brother was with her, they aren't outside. I looked outside, twice. I even went around the block."

"How did they disappear so fast?" I wondered.

"I talked to a couple people that said Natalie and Logan were arguing, but then Kellan went out there. What did he say to my sister?"

I grabbed a linen towel off the shelf, attempting to dry his hair. "He couldn't have said anything bad, I mean...he loves her to death."

"What if he did? Enough to make her leave without her jacket? It's 60 out there, but with the rain it feels way colder. Same with Logan, his jacket is also still here." I stopped drying him off, realizing just how close we were. I pulled him in for a hug, "Don't worry, we'll find her." I felt his body still trembling from the cold, but only slightly relaxed in my arms.

I let the towel fall and opened the door. A few of Kellan's friends came up trying to make small talk, but I excused myself, following Alex to Kellan's room.

I opened the door to see Kellan sitting at the edge of the bed, drinking a bottle of beer, our room trashed.

"Kellan, my sister is missing, she left her jacket, and I heard that you two were talking?"

"Yeah, what of it?" He mumbled, continuing to swig the beer.

I pinched the bridge of my nose, realizing I would have to fight tooth and nail to get a simple answer from him.

"Kell- listen to me. Whatever upset you, you just need to push it aside for a second and answer me. Where are Natalie and Logan? It's pretty bad outside, it's raining so bad Alex got soaked just looking for a few minutes."

"So what? They probably got an uber."

"I talked to a few people, they said they didn't see anything." Alex's voice was getting louder now.

"I'm getting so sick of this," I muttered, so I stepped out into the living room, and turned off the music "Sorry guys, we've had some issues and we're calling it a night. Take your coats, and please leave as soon as possible. Thanks for coming." I waved everyone out, down the stairs until the last person left.

I walked back in the room to Alex and Kellan yelling at each other, "I can't fucking believe you did that to my sister!"

"Wait, whoa, what happened?" Alex turned to me, his face full of hurt and fury.

"Oh, get this, he kicked them out! He heard them arguing and he put his HANDS on my SISTER!" Alex flung himself toward Kellan, but I put my arm out, shielding him.

"Hold on, just take a breath. This doesn't have to get physical, just give us a second, okay Alex?" I locked eyes with him, pleading. His face relaxed, and he pushed off me and walked back out into the living room.

"Is that true?" I asked, seeing the look on Kellan's face.

"I made a mistake, I just-"

"No. You don't get to do that here." I shook my head. "You've been like this ever since Natalie ended up in the hospital. You've been moody, you don't tell me anything that's going on with you anymore. I don't even get your silly bartending updates anymore. We used to laugh, and cuddle, we even used to make love. I've been trying to see past it for weeks," I clenched the box in my pocket, "I was going to fucking propose."

I slammed the box onto the nightstand, grabbing my bag from under the bed. "I can't do this anymore." I opened a drawer, putting my clothes inside the bag, "I can't sit here, waiting for you to come home, just for you to watch tv and then pass out on the couch. I'm not going to do this sad, little housewife routine. I've done it before." I started grabbing my charger, my guitar, and shoving things in the bag.

"Damien, wait." Kellan's arms wrapped around me, his lips pressing to mine.

"No!" I pushed him off, putting him back on the bed. "Don't, I don't know what's happened to the guy I fell in love with, but you're not him. I'm not sticking around for this again."

"Fine, leave. Go!" I shut the door to hear glass shatter against the wall, no doubt his beer spilling all over the new rug we just bought, together.

I walked up to Alex, sitting by the door. "How much of that did you hear?" I asked, feeling my eyes sting.

He put his arm around me, "You can have your old room back. We've got to find Natalie and Logan, and then we can get some food."

I wiped away the tears as I shut the door to Kellan's apartment.
