*Logan's POV*

I locked up the record store at 9:00 pm as I usually did, and sat in my car with exhaustion.

I'd run to a few different towns over the last few days and had been worried sick over Natalie. I'd tried to call her a few times, but it always went straight to voicemail.

We were just starting to get acquainted again, back together even. At least, I thought we were back together.

Natalie overhearing Serena's confession really threw a wrench in the gears, and her knowing I lied made it so much worse. Why didn't I just tell the fucking truth?

I tried to check my phone but it was dead. I blew out a breath of frustration, and I didn't want to go home, immediately anyways. When I got to The Iris, I saw a few fire trucks pass by, loud sirens piercing the air, and an ambulance.

I didn't think much of it, and walked into the studio entrance. I went straight to our studio and stepped in. The light was still on, as if someone had been here earlier. The smell of Natalie's perfume caressed my senses. I turned off the lamp and wondered, maybe she was still here? Maybe I could talk to her.

I locked the studio back up and traveled down the hall to the club entrance. I walked down the other hallway up to the stage, and took a peek behind the curtain. Nope, she wasn't here. I took another couple of steps and saw Serena bartending for the night. Kellan was in Chicago, visiting Whitney. When he mentioned it to me last week I couldn't help but wince to myself, but he told me she got married to her ex-fiance, and had a new job writing for a big music magazine. The thought made me laugh, I remembered. But I pushed that thought away. Right now I just wanted to fix what I'd done.

"Hey Logan," she smiled, and took my drink order. Before I took a sip, I felt an hand on my shoulder.

"Logan, come with me." Alex's voice was serious, his face pale. "I just got off the phone with the hospital, they told me Natalie had an accident." His voice had dropped when he'd said his sister's name.

"What happened? Is she okay?" I asked, my heart pounding in my chest.

He shook his head, "I don't know, the nurse didn't say."

"Let's go," I murmured, pulling him toward the door, "We can go in my car," I said. I looked to Alex but he didn't say anything else, and I pulled out of the parking lot.

We drove as fast as we could with the icy roads, and when we got to the county hospital I saw an ambulance driving away. I parked where I could and as soon as we got to the entrance, Alex's phone rang.

I could only hear muffled tones as he walked, but it sounded like she was on the surgical floor. It seemed like a lot for a fender bender.

*Alex's POV*

Not again, I thought. I can't go through this again. I would do anything for my sister, anything.

"Hey Alex, I just wanted to say, I love you, and I-"

She knew she was in trouble, she knew she might not make it. I had to see my sister.

When we reached the surgical floor, we were told we had to wait. I asked for more details, so a nurse took Logan and I into a room. She had pictures, a shard of glass in her leg, an x-ray of her chest showing cracked ribs, and she wouldn't be able to put much weight on her leg for at least six weeks. We were lucky, the doctor said.

While we sat in the waiting room, I made calls to Kellan, Damien, and Mom. She'd moved in with a new boyfriend a while ago, said she wanted us to have our own lives. She offered to fly back, but I insisted I could take care of her. I sent a quick text to Frankie, but she already knew, she said she was busy but she'd visit. I left a message on Canyon's phone, and I was tempted to call Aeron too, but I knew Natalie didn't want him around.
