*Natalie's POV*

Life shortly went back to normal, I was helping AB part-time washing dishes at The Iris, and the rest of the time I was writing music and playing guitar with my brother. Canyon and I were brainstorming about singing a duet together, but he'd been busy with other things and we hadn't had time to set up a proper session yet.

Scarlet hadn't called me in almost three weeks, and Logan hadn't said anything to me since the night of the grand opening.

Tonight Aeron and I were watching Jurassic Park, one of his favorite movies.

"Ok so wait, all of this is just because the weird guy took off with the samples?" I snuggled a little bit closer to him, tracing my fingers across the top of his T-shirt.

Aeron sighed, "No, it's to show that you shouldn't mess with evolution. I mean, could you imagine dinosaurs running around here in modern day? Even I couldn't make it past a t-rex!" His fingers teased at the back of my hair. I loved how comfortable it was to just... be here with him.

"Yeah but Sam Niell's character is so cute with those kids, I mean look at their little faces." I couldn't help but awe over the soft character development, and how he changes as a scientist.

"But he doesn't even want kids." He laughed, "He's just trying to keep them safe."

"What about you?" He stopped laughing and looked at me confused.

"What do you mean?"

"Do you want kids? I mean, more than the two you have with your ex?" Aeron's expression changed.

"No, I mean, I've already got two beautiful children why would I want more than what I'm given? The way I see it, I've already had the best moments of fatherhood. Their mum takes care of them, and I'm not even there right now. Why would I want to do that to another child?" He shook it off, and then started the movie up again, "Ok so look, see how Laura Dern's character is getting stronger? She just took on a velociraptor!"

I couldn't help but feel defeated. He didn't want more kids, so what was he doing with me?

*Logan's POV*

I'd gotten a weird voicemail while at work, so I decided to listen to it during a slow moment.

"Mr. Grey,  it's Detective Bohannon. I have some urgent news to deliver to you and Miss Koughlin, please call me back to set up a time to meet. Goodbye."

I'd felt a twinge of fear, wondering to myself why he could possibly need to see us together.

I shook it off when I noticed a text on my phone from Damien.

D: Hey brother, Kellan and I are having a party at our place, 7:00, be there.

I texted back: sure. who's going?

D: the gang, scarlet can't make it, but all of our friends and his will be there.

I waited a moment and then my phone dinged again.

D: Yes, Natalie will be there too. Hope to see you anyway...

L: don't worry I'll be there.

*Natalie's POV*

Aeron had picked up a shift tonight, helping as a bouncer at the bar after one of the usual guys called in sick, so I decided to ride with Alex to Kellan and Damien's party. I had no idea what was happening, just that they decided to have one. I'd only been to Kellan's a few times, but I was still dazzled by the sheer size of his apartment. Refurbished fire houses were my favorite, a person could feel the integrity of the building and design put into it.
