*Desmond's POV*

I felt nervous, I wore my best leather jacket with my white button down and black pants. I'd never been to a christmas party before, not unless you count the kind at school.

If I were a smoker, I'd need a cigarette. I felt so nervous, I'd be seeing so many of her friends tonight. Damien, Wren, Kellan, thank god he was going to be there. Everett and Alex, and Logan said he might come.

We stepped into the house and I immediately took her coat, and placed it in the guest bedroom closet like she'd asked. She now knew Ripley's jacket was valuable and she didn't want to take a chance it'd get wet or ruined.

"Everyone, this is Desmond. I mean, most of you know him already but, he's my boyfriend," Natalie smiled and looked at me when she said it, the twinkle of her dress shining in the light of the Christmas tree.

I nodded and held up my hand in a wave.

As the party kept on, I noticed the front door open. "Hey, sorry I'm late, I brought some stuff, courtesy of my mom and Scarlet." Logan looked around, and made maybe two seconds of eye contact with me before he headed to the kitchen by Natalie.

I noticed Logan's posture change completely, his footsteps were small and quiet as he approached her, his touch on her shoulder was but a graze as the volume of his voice lowered as he spoke to her.

"Mom and Scarlet sent this, and I need to talk to you." I heard him mumble to her, and she shook her head.

"Later."

I saw his shoulders tense, and she took a step back from him.

"Nat-"

"I said, later." She snapped, but then something changed. She turned toward him and then set down her drink.

"Okay, since it's Christmas, you have five minutes."

He set down the rest of the bags and she guided him toward the guest bedroom.

"What do you think that's about?" I asked Alex.

Alex looked at me with an uneasy gaze, "I don't know."

*Natalie's POV*

"Okay, close your eyes." Logan said when I'd sat down on the bed, he waited for a few moments, and then I felt something against my wrist.

"Open."

I looked down to see a gold chain with my birthstone, some charms, and then turned it over to see a part of it had been engraved. "Logan, this is so extravagant, I can't accept this."

Logan shook his head, "It's already been paid for, I bought it a long time ago, but it never seemed like a good time to give it to you."

"Now's not a good time either," I slipped.

Logan shrugged, "It's Christmas. You love Christmas." His smile brought me back to simpler times, the moments when we would laugh and joke around about things. I felt that chip away at me and I touched the engraving gently, "to my sunlight, love LG," I looked at him.

"Do you remember when we stayed in all night and tried six different types of fries," I laughed, "You had so much ketchup that night." I laughed.

"It was nothing compared to you freaking out when I spilled it on your comforter." He laughed, and for a moment, we were us again.

Only when we looked at each other, we knew it, we knew it was creeping up on us. His eyes locked on mine and I couldn't look away. I saw him getting closer and closer, part of me wanted it to happen, part of me knew it couldn't happen. I didn't move, his eyes moved down to my lips and he reached to grasp my chin. He tilted my face just a little, and kissed me on the cheek. I closed my eyes as a tear fell down my face and the heavy feeling around us intensified as his forehead pressed against mine.
