*AB's POV*

I sat outside the hospital in my car, I hadn't stayed with the cops. They told me they were coming to the hospital anyway, so I could go to them for further questioning.

I made it to the ICU floor, and I looked over to see Micah. He didn't see me, but I made myself scarce as he and an older man were talking.

"Captain, I know I should've stayed at the scene, but I had to check on my friends."

"Not at all, Gideon. I admire your dedication to your friends. I'll talk to the Chief and you'll probably get a medal."

Micah shook his head, "I just did what was right, sir."

"Well, I'm still going to kick it up, I-

I stumbled on my words as I heard them, "I'm sorry, you're talking about Micah right? I mean, I just thought he was a firefighter."

The Captain turned his eyes toward me, "Young man, Micah Gideon is one of the best men I've ever had the privilege of serving with. If it weren't for him, I'm afraid we would be having a different conversation about your friends. You are Alberto Martinez correct?" He extended his hand to me. I shook it, nodding.

"Yes sir."

"I'm really sorry about what happened with your friend." He let go of my hand and looked toward Micah, "Gideon, let us know if there's anything I can do. I hope you'll come back soon, we miss you."

Micah nodded, "Thank you sir."

When the Captain was fully out of way, Micah looked at me. "Hey, have you gone to see Logan yet?"

I shook my head, "No, the police wanted to talk to me first, so I was going to wait for them. I... can't face them."

"Face the police?" Micah's look was one of extreme confusion.

"I have to fess up to something. I... slept with Victoria, the night before she... before she..." Micah placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Listen dude, whatever it is that you're holding in your heart, you've just gotta put it away and be there for Alex. He misses you, so much. Sometimes when I stay over, I hear him crying in the bathroom. I see him look at your Instagram profile, wondering when you're going to text him back. Whatever's going on between you two, you have to step up and be there for him. He loves you, you love him, and that's all there is to it."

"Wow, I didn't know you were this deep, Micah." He shrugged.

"Eh, I've just been in a lot of different situations. Life is too short to be scared of it."

I sighed, feeling like a complete ass. "Listen, I need to apologize to you. I've treated you horribly ever since I met you. I didn't see you as a new friend, I saw you as a threat. I was not right for treating you the way I did, and I'm sorry. Can we start over?" I extended my hand.

Micah looked at me and took my hand. "I accept your apology. I get it, I know how I can seem to some people, but I would never do something that would ruin an already established relationship. Thanks for apologizing, that's really big of you." He shook my hand, and we walked to Logan's room together.

*Logan's POV*

I sat in my bed, waiting for any update on Natalie. Scarlet came into the room, her eyes puffy and her hair had been pulled up into a messy bun. She let out a sigh and sat on the chair beside me.

"Any news?" I asked.

She shook her head, "Still in surgery for a few more hours, the nurse told me it could be all night. When she comes out..." Scarlet trailed off, another broken sigh escaping as her hands trembled in her lap.
