SOTD:"Think Of You" by Reeve Carney
*Natalie's POV*
Everything was so loud. The beeping of the monitors I was attached to, the sound of Alex's screams as he yelled for help...
I had awoken suddenly to a terribly sharp pain in my chest, unable to properly breath even with the oxygen that was being forced into me.
Alex had panicked when my hands began scratching at my throat, a sad attempt to tell him I couldn't breathe...
The terrified look in his eyes as he was pulled away by the doctor and shoved out of the room. There were things being said, things being yelled... but all I could hear was buzzing.
Tears welled in my eyes, my vision blurring around the edges.
In the moments before I passed out, all I wanted was to see Logan. One last time...
To feel his hand against mine... one last time.

-"Logan..."
My throat was sore, and I had barely managed the strength to say his name, but it was my first word.
My first thought when my eyes had finally fluttered open... had been of him.
"He's in the waiting room, if you feel up to it." Alex rubbed his eyes as he straightened up in the chair next to my bed, and I couldn't help the tears that began welling in my eyes "Shit..." He pulled his phone out of his pocket as he stood up, pacing back and forth in front of the bed as he talked to someone who I assumed was Logan...
I had closed my eyes, to stave off the headache caused by the extreme stress of everything, but I immediately opened them again when I heard the door opening.
"Hey..." Logan had his hands shoved into the pockets of his jacket, and he hesitated before walking a little closer to the bed "Alex just told me you... you asked to see me." I managed to nod, reaching for the pitcher of water on the small table beside my bed, my fingers just barely far enough away that I couldn't grasp anything "Here..." He grabbed the plastic cup, his hands trembling as he moved it towards my lips and helped me take a few small sips. Water dripped down my chin and onto the thin hospital gown I'd asked them to put on me "Shit... sorry." He sat the cup back down, looking around the room for something to wipe up the mess with, but coming up empty.
"It's..." I swallowed, wincing at the slight burning sensation it caused "It's alright." He then settled himself into the chair, his hands fidgeting with each other as he glanced over me.
The room stayed silent, save for the occasional quiet beep of one of the machines I was still attached to, and just as I began to feel my eyes becoming heavy Logan shifted and I turned to see him hurriedly wiping tears from his eyes "When Scarlet called me I didn't want to believe it..." He leaned forward in the chair, running both of his hands through his hair, my eyes instantly focusing on his "I was so worried that I'd lost..."
"Logan..." I swallowed, moving my hand as close to the edge of the bed as I could, hoping he would take the hint.
His delicate, strong fingers ghosted over mine, before he finally touched me.
I couldn't help the sigh that escaped my lips, it was one of relief, and I tried to hide the pain that was building in my chest. Being fully awake was so overwhelming... and being told the full extent of my injuries had only added to the stress...
Logan moved closer to the bed, laying his head down by my hand, his hair falling over his eyes and causing me to crack a shy smile "I love you."
He tightened his grip on my hand when I shifted myself as best I could, unable to stop the groan of discomfort that escaped my lips "I'm fine."
"I don't believe that for a second..." Logan smiled as he lifted himself up, rubbing his thumb softly across my skin before letting go "I'll call for..."
"Please. I'm... I'm fine." I felt a tear roll down my cheek, and it was quickly wiped away "I just want you." His hand still rested against the side of my cheek "I'm fine..." It came out as barely a whisper, my strength fading in and out, my vision blurring around the edges.
"You aren't fine..." He reached to the side of the bed, activating the call button and it was only a few minutes before the door to my room swung open and Logan was ushered out, leaving me with a small group of nurses...

-"Nat..." Alberto stepped towards the bed, where I was propped up, but just barely, against a few pillows "I'm sorry..." He hesitated, running his hands through his hair, my eyes widening when I saw the small line of stitches on his cheek.
"Are you alright?" I lifted my shaking hand up towards my nose, wanting to pull at the uncomfortable oxygen tubes but giving up when my hand wouldn't stop trembling.
"Just a scratch..." He smiled, wiping his eyes as he gingerly sat on the edge of my bed "I'd trade places with you in a second..."
"What happened?" I cut him off, blinking a few times, unable to stop the tears that began forming when he placed his warm hand on top of mine "I can't... I can't remember much."
"I only closed my eyes for a second... I'm so... I'm so sorry Nat."
