*Alex's POV*
I woke up and turned to my side, looking into Everett's tired eyes, his plump lips turned into a smile."Good morning," he said, giving me a peck on the lips.
I smiled, returning the kiss. The kiss deepened, his hands moved beneath my knee and scooped me up on top of him.
My stomach was butterflies, but I felt hesitant as his hand slipped into my boxers. No. I stiffened and he stopped.
"Sorry, did I do something wrong?"
I shook my head, No, it's just...I'm not," I readjusted and sat on the bed, "I'm not ready yet."
He nodded and sat up, "It's okay, I understand."
"You do?" I asked.
"Your best friend died, and you just aren't in the space to be intimate, it's okay."
Everett stood up and slowly closed the door behind him, his footfalls descending to the bathroom. A few moments later, he came back and peeked in, "Hey, did your sister message you anything about when she was coming home?"
I looked down, trying not to remember the awkward tension between Natalie and Everett. I checked my phone, "Uh, no."
Everett started to get dressed, moving worryingly and I tried calling her a couple times with no answer.
"She's not in her room?" I asked.
He snapped at me, "If she was in her room do you think I'd ask if she was home?"
I wasn't in the mood to fight with him, so I pulled on my robe and went downstairs. There was a mug in the sink, no note but there were 4 less muffins than the dozen I made yesterday. I tried calling again but it went to voicemail.
"Well?" He yelled from the room.
"She's probably with someone, don't worry about it."
Everett raced down the steps, phone in hand, "She's not with you?" He made a series of nods and grunts, "Okay, thanks McTavish, I'll talk to you later."
I looked up at him, he took a muffin out of the container and took a bite. "Not with Aeron, either."
I shrugged, "I don't know why you're so concerned honey," I sighed, "She's fine."
Everett shook his head at me, "I don't know how you're not."

*Wren's POV*
Natalie seemed okay when she woke up, ignoring Alex's calls was something she did when she was stressed, and I noticed her phone go off a few times with his name coming up.
"Hey, are you okay?"
She looked up from her breakfast she picked at, "I'm...just processing."
I took her hand, "Lay it on me."
We stared into each other's eyes a moment, "I don't know what to do about things. Logan's gone and I feel, hmm sad. Everett yelling at me, not telling Alex about it, it feels wrong. I tell him almost everything."
I could see the tension in her shoulders, the way she eyed the eggs on her plate as if to say, 'I don't want this' and the way she picked her thumb with the other hand.
"What would happen if you told him?" I stood up and reached for the coffee pot.
"They'd fight, probably break up. Alex can't go through that right now. I'll tell him, just not right now."
