*Natalie's POV*
Rhodes knocked on the locker room door, then came inside and stood, mouth agape. "Damn, if I go on a date and she comes out looking like this I'm proposing right then and there."
I blushed, smirking a little, "Xiomara."
"I'm sorry," she held her hands up, "I couldn't help myself. I just came in here to tell you that Briar is ready for the date." She said, then paused, "He was talking to Raleigh in the conference room and shit looked heated. Princess Elena was in the rec room, smoke practically coming out of her ears."
I scoffed, "Elena can kiss my ass. That girl is so insecure, she's goading me constantly, she made me doubt if Desmond and her had sex, I mean, she thinks she has him in the palm of her hand."
Rhodes teased, "What if she does?"
I laughed loudly in disbelief, then put my hand to my mouth, "Sorry, that was mean. I will say, she doesn't-he doesn't even like her. I see it in the way he touches or talks to her. He's just bad at telling people how he truly feels." I tried not to think about how that last sentence made me feel, and instead stood up, and put a little bit of gloss on my lips. "Okay, how do I look?"
"Are you sure you want to go on a date with a man? I mean, I will glady marry you right here and now." Xiomara said confidently.
I waved her away, "I'll think about it if things don't work out with Desmond. I mean, Huxley."
Xiomara just grinned and said nothing, and handed me my clutch, shoving my duffle into an empty locker. I put my coat on, careful to leave it open so Briar could see my dress. I loved the way my boots hit the floor, careful for any water puddles I could slip on, and saw my 'thighs' peek through the slits of the dress.
I walked up to Huxley and Desmond talking, Desmond being the first one to notice me. His mouth fell open, with Huxley still talking, and he tapped Briar on the chest to look at me.
Briar turned and smiled, "Wow."
I looked at Desmond, still standing there, mouth open, breathing definitely unsteady by the way his eyes glided over my body. I felt the butterflies flutter in my stomach, and I put my hands in the pockets of my coat. Briar turned to look at him, and we were just all three looking at him. Desmond was trying to form words but instead he said, "you look, look-uh, it's" he gestured at my dress, "I'm sorry, I don't really know what to say."
Rhodes walked over to stand by him, "How about 'Natalie, you look amazing' you could start with that."
Desmond shook his head, "Amazing is not a good enough word for how beautiful you look." He smiled, and I looked over to see Elena glaring at me, and I just waved, smiling.
I looked up at Huxley and he grinned to himself, then looked up at me, "Ready to go?" He stood by me and extended his arm.
"Yeah, I'm ready," I said, looking at Desmond, "thanks for the compliment. I'll see you later?"
Rhodes put her hand around Desmond, "We'll be here when you get back, I'm hoping you'll give me a ton of details."
Once he helped me into the truck, he placed a blanket over my lap, which was sweet. We made small talk and I took him in, really trying to observe him as a romantic interest, or at least I tried. I couldn't help but feel flutters thinking of the way Desmond looked at me. It was if he was undressing me right there, just he and I.
Until I looked in the back and saw the booster seat. Zane, sweet little dude. What if he didn't want more kids?
"You okay?" He asked, looking over at me quickly before returning his gaze to the road.
