*Natalie's POV*
It had been my fourteenth day in the hospital, Kellan's face grew more and more tired. We found out from Bohannon that Victoria had set fire to the bar's office, and it had been contained, but Kellan found it too hard to go back to work, so he quit. I tried asking Damien about it, but he told me not to worry.
"I'll be here for you kid, whatever you need." Kellan squeezed my hand gently, bending down to kiss it before turning to my mom. "I can stay with her during the day while you work, we're all going to pitch in and make sure she's taken care of. You can count on us."
My mom's eyes were tired, but she had gone home a few days ago, and stayed, to finally shower and eat some food Logan's mom managed to meal prep for the last couple weeks. I felt weird that so many people were doing things for me, how could I ever pay them back? But with every movement I knew I couldn't worry about that.
"Thank you, sweetie, I know how much you care about her." She rested a hand on his shoulder before turning to me. "The doctor told me you could go home today, and that you're going to have to take it easy for a couple weeks, no gigs, driving, not until he thinks you're ready. All I need is to sign off on your medication and therapy appointments, and you should be fine."
I nodded, handing my phone to Kellan. "Can you message everyone? Tell them I'm coming home today?"
"Sure, doll." He smiled, the keys tapping as he messaged the group chat. "Alright, sent." A few pings and he looked again. "Scarlet and Jordana said they'll be over to see you tomorrow, give you some time to rest at home. Damien and Logan are on their way, and Alex and AB are already at home." He clicked the phone off, and looked up at me. "I'm right here."
After my milkshake date with Logan, things had been awkward. He and I were both anxious for me to be back home. He'd made a decent effort to show up for me, but his visits were short.
I knew it was tearing him up seeing me in the bed, his leg would bob up and down for about fifteen minutes before he would kiss me on the cheek and leave.
Kellan had never left my side, he'd managed to sneak his way into showers and endure the cafeteria food, and while my mom got sleep he would bring movies and scroll through my playlists with me.
I felt as if I'd seen a tender side of him he rarely showed, his demeanor changed completely whenever anyone besides Damien or my mom was in the room.
"I've got them!" Damien came into the room, holding a black shopping bag. "I went through some of your sweatpants, and I found these. Super comfy, by the way." He winked, and then handed me a black men's tank top and zip up hoodie. "I decided on the men's tank top, it'll be ventilating in the back, while still making mobility easy for your bandages. Plus, who doesn't like a hoodie."
I smiled, Damien's fashion sense never failed. I looked over to see Logan's lip curved in, no doubt he was picking at them. "Hey."
He rubbed my arm, "Hey." Then he bent down to kiss me, and part of me froze for a moment. It was quick, I could see the nervousness from the way he fidgeted with his thumbs.
"Alright, ready to get you home?" The morning nurse Kari walked in, handing me some discharge papers and the other nurse, Lexi, helped me ease up into a sitting position. I'd taken small steps from day four to now, but I still felt the tightness in my body whenever I moved.
"I'm scared," I whispered, gripping Lexi's arm tightly as she pulled me up. I winced, but I still cried out. I took a breath, wiping my tears with one hand, the other half of me still supported by Lexi next to me. "I'm okay," I breathed again, a small cough rocked my chest, and I could see the fear in Logan's eyes. I looked over at Lexi, and she smiled.
