"Are you guys sure you want me..." I hesitated, glancing over at my guitar case which was still leaning exactly where I'd left it when we arrived "I've never performed in front of anyone." My hands had started trembling against my sides, and Logan took them into his, his thumbs both rubbing calming circles against them "I only know a few songs..."

"Hey. Look at me. I'll be right behind you with my own guitar. Play whatever you want and we'll just join in..." I silently nodded at him, as he pulled me against him into a tight hug, holding my head against his chest "If you really don't want to do this, you don't have to. I would never force you to do something that made you uncomfortable..."

"We have a surprise for everyone tonight..." Alex looked towards the side of the stage, where I was standing with my guitar strapped across my chest "My sister is here..." Logan winked at me as he tuned his own guitar, the pick between his teeth "And she is going to help us with the last song." He motioned for me to step out, and I climbed the few steps up, taking a deep breath in before stepping out from behind the curtain. I moved towards Logan, the idea of being close to him was the only thing stopping me from completely freaking out. He quickly leaned towards me, placing a small kiss on my cheek, eliciting quite a few whistles from the small crowd and I felt myself turning red as I closed my eyes and played the first opening notes to one of Logan's songs...

"It started with a kiss..."
"Alone in the abyss..."
"We used to be strangers..."

I sang the first few lines by myself, eventually turning around to see Logan with watery eyes, his fingers trembling against the neck of his guitar. I knew most of his songs by heart, but especially this one...

"Hey... why didn't you tell me you knew the words to that..." He slightly adjusted the way his fingers were gripping my arm, nuzzling his chin into my neck as we lay on a blanket on the grass, right next to the water. I moved my hand across his lower torso, my fingers spreading out, feeling him "Because goddamn Nat. When you started singing I..." I leaned up and placed a small kiss on his lips, silencing whatever it was he had meant to say. He seemed surprised at my sudden boldness, a shy smile ghosting over his face before his fingers moved to my hair. He didn't say much else, never even attempted to continue what he'd started saying...

"Logan..."

"Mhmm?" I lifted my head up from where I'd been resting right against his chest, listening to his heartbeat "Spit it out Nat..." I lifted myself up so I was leaning on my side, no longer touching him, a chill running over me when his jacket slipped off my shoulders "Is something wrong?"

"No it's just... nothing is wrong I just." I shook my head at him, sitting completely upright and wrapping my arms around my legs, my fingers absentmindedly picking a piece of grass off my pants "I'm not trying to push you away. I just... I don't quite know how to react to you caring so much about me you know? With my ex it was always... all he ever wanted to do was... there was never any of this." Logan wrapped his hand around my shoulder, after slipping his jacket back around me, pulling me closer to him "You're... amazing." I immediately looked away from him, my cheeks warming with my embarrassment, and I felt a few stray tears beginning to escape from my eyes. Why was I so afraid to tell him how I felt?

"You know... I don't think tears during a first date are very good luck..." He gently wiped his thumb across my cheek, before he softly placed his lips on mine, my hands moved to his shoulders, and then they began carding through his hair as the kiss deepened, tugging lightly on the ends and causing him to moan quietly against my lips "What are you doing to me..." Logan pulled away, but just barely, and I could still feel his warm breath against my skin "I just... I need to know every part of you." He kissed my cheek, his lips lingering against my skin for what seemed like hours "I need to know you, the real you, all the pieces you've never shown anyone else."

"Jacob was perfect at first... I couldn't believe someone like him wanted anything to do with me." Logan and I were sitting on the edge of my bed, his arm was wrapped around my back while my own hands rested in my lap "I should have known, when he refused to look me in the eyes when..." I took in a sharp breath, my hands gripping each other tightly. This was something I hadn't even fully detailed to Scarlet "When we slept together the first time... and the longer we were together the more controlling he became. He constantly had to know where I was... and who I was with. He was terrible to me but my father adored him, and with everyone else telling me it was a dream relationship, from their point of view anyways... I stayed." Logan pulled me into his lap, cradling my head against his chest "I stayed, until the night he did this..." My hand pulled away from Logan's, moving underneath the edge of my shirt and pulling it up just enough to reveal the jagged scar that ran across my lower back.

"I remember the night it happened..." Logan muttered under his breath, his hand moving to mine which was still shaking as it traced along the edges of the rough skin...
