*Desmond's POV*

After I left Natalie's house I hauled ass to the store. I called Babs on the phone to let her know I was going to be late coming home, too. Before she could hang up I asked her a question, "what do you get girls when they're having problems?"

I heard her chuckle slightly at the question, "What kind of 'problems' Desi? Boy problems? Lady problems?"

I thought about the girl Natalie was talking about, Frankie. I remembered Micah mentioning a Frankie, she had to be the same girl, right, considering her and Micah were all friends. I was her friend... I think. I shook the thoughts from my head and refocused my attention, "Uh, I think boy problems, do you mean lady problems like, a period?"

"Boy, what would you do without me?" She laughed, "Chocolate ice cream, candy, snacks, sugary drinks, probably some alcohol."

"Natalie can't have alcohol, babs."

"Is she an addict?" Babs asked. A weird silence passed between us.

I cringed at the question, "No, she's on some medication."

"Oh, then just stick with what I've suggested. Get some girly magazines, like 'Cosmo' or 'Us Weekly', just do your best kiddo. You've got enough?"

I threw a few bags of snacks in my cart, "Of course."

"Okay, I don't want you to go through all of this effort just to look like some shmuck."

"Hey, I'm a pretty great guy." I laughed, reaching for some salsa.

"Okay, well don't be too late hon, you've got only a few hours before your next shift."

"I know."

I looked in my cart, there were chips, snacks, all I had to get was the ice cream. This was going to be a choice, everything had chocolate in it. I went through my contacts and I hit Alex's name, he would still be awake.

"Hello?" His voice was soft.

"Yeah, hey, it's me, Desmond. Uh, I was wondering, what kind of ice cream is your sister into? I wanted to do something nice since she said Frankie was coming over."

Alex let out a sigh, and I could hear items being rustled around. "Okay, you ready?"

After checking out and getting $65 worth of snacks and ice cream, I hauled everything to my car when it hit me... how the hell was I supposed to get this to her house on-shift. Leaving during break was at least 15 minutes and another 10 to get back. I would have to drop-it off and somehow shove something into my face for five minutes. I shook my head and decided I was going to make it work.

*Natalie's POV*

"I'm telling you, he's been weird ever since I asked him to have kids. He just became so adverse to the topic, he wouldn't even listen to anything I had to say. So I left, and then I heard he got suspended at work. I didn't even bother going back to my parent's house. I know we're going to sort it out at some point, it's just...I miss the way things were between us. I never had to explain exactly how I was feeling, and now it feels as if every word might turn into a fight. I'm so tired of fighting."

I nodded, not sure what to say to Frankie. She and Micah were going through some issues, and the thought of Frankie getting pregnant with the state of her heart scared me to death.
