Lorelai Gilmore...Rory... my Ace, will you marry me?"

Logan sat there on one knee holding out the open, black velvet box with the ring inside it, waiting for Rory to say something

"Wow...I mean, wow...I just, um...wow" Rory stuttered

"Is there a yes in between those wows?" Logan asked nervously

"Yes!" Rory said, as a tear escaped and started to make its way down her cheek

"Yes?!"

"Yes, of course, I'll marry you Logan!" Rory bent down to where Logan was and wrapped her arms around his neck

Logan wrapped an arm around Rory's waist and stood up pulling Rory up with him. Kissed her with as much passion as he could. When they broke apart he put the ring on Rory's finger.

"Logan it's beautiful" Rory gasped

"Take it off" Logan told her

"What?" Rory was confused about why he wanted her to take off the ring he had just put on her finger

"Look at the inscription" he said

Rory took of the ring and flipped it over revealing the inside of the band where she could read what Logan had gotten engraved on her ring and she almost cried when she read it. Engraved on the inside of the sterling silver band was 'you jump, I jump...always'

"That was the moment I knew I loved you" Logan said grinning

He took the ring from Rory and put it back on her finger. Then he put his hand on the small of her back and they stepped out onto the balcony overlooking time square.

"10...9...8..." Logan started "ready to ring in the new year as an engaged couple?" He smiled at her and wrapped his arms around her

"3...2...1..." Rory continued

"Happy new year, Ace" he said and kissed her

"Remind me again why you don't want to wear the ring to work" Logan asked when he noticed riot taking off her ring as he and Rory were getting ready for work. It had been almost 2 weeks since new years and they were back home and back to work

"Because I want my mom to know first" she reminded him

"Then why have you been avoiding her calls for almost 2 weeks?" He asked, even though he already knew the answer

"Because if I talk to her I'll end up blurting it out and I want to tell her in person, so it's strictly texting until this weekend"

"Whatever you want, Ace" he smiled at her and got up to leave "ok, I gotta go" he kissed her before he walked to the door "see you tonight"

"Hey, Ace!" Logan said from the couch when he heard Rory walk through the door "how was work?"

"Hello Logan" Mitchum said walking into the living room, Rory following behind. She mouthed 'sorry' when their eyes met. "Nice place you guys have here"

"What are you doing here?" Logan asked coldly. At that moment he was just thankful that Rory wasn't eating the ring because he was not ready for his parents to know

"I was in the area on business and thought I'd come visit my son and his girlfriend" Mitchum explained "your mother wants you to come to dinner"

"Last I checked we don't live in the same state" Logan responded "is mom in DC?"
