Kabanata 32
I don't even know Rai's number. Gab only told me that he will pick me up this Saturday. He asked me to wear pants so I did wear one.
"Lily, may naghahanap sa'yo," Dumungaw si Yaya Sita sa pinto ng kwarto ko. I only nodded.
I grabbed my Chanel classic flap bag and my phone. I only wear a white tank sweetheart neck crop top and a black high waist pants. Paired it with simple white low heeled sandals.
"Mommy and I are having dinner with Grandma later, Yaya Sita. Did Mommy already inform you?" I tell her while going down the stairs.
"Yes, Lily."
"Enjoy your day-off, Yaya Sita." Nakipagbeso ako sa kanya. "I'll go now."
It's still early around 8 in the morning. I am not sure where we're going, I just agreed.
Pagkabukas ko ng gate ay nagulat ako nang nakitang nakasandal sa itim na SUV si Rai. Dapat hindi na siya bumaba. He stood properly when he saw me and he easily towered over me. Balikat lang niya ako.
Standing side by side with him in broad daylight, I see that he is not as fair white as I am. His complexion is just fair. Light brown? It suits him. He is lean and really tall. Maybe, it's the reason why I am attracted to him? Timothee Chalamet in Little Women is my ideal man. His body type looks like it. His facial features are far from being the same though. His nose is the same as European guys, so tall. His eyes are expressive but deep. His lips are thin, and the messy hair completes the dreamy vibe. He fits my type in short.
He looked really clean too. With his brown loose pants and white t-shirt, he literally looks and smells good.
He checks me out too...from head to foot. He smiled boyishly.
"Good morning?" He greeted me playfully.
Maybe because I looked shock and awkward. Natuod ako sa kinatatayuan. This is awkward. Pakiramdam ko agad nag-init ang pisngi ko. In moments like this, when I am feeling nervous, my cheeks would fire up. I can't even control it.
"Good morning," I almost whispered.
"Let's go?" He asked then opened the passenger seat door. He gestured inside. I immediately followed him. He puts his hand on my head, not touching it though but just protecting me from the roof of his car.
Nang makaupo ako ay agad kong hinawakan ang seatbelt. Akala ko ay isasara na niya at iikot na siya pero hindi niya ginawa.
He looked at me like he is taking courage to say something or he is waiting for me to look at him. I don't know which one.
When I met his eyes, he said, "You look pretty, by the way."
My immediate reaction is a smile. "Thanks," I said shyly. He smiled too.
He brushed his hands on his hair. Umikot siya at sumakay na sa pwesto niya. He then started the car.
"What's your shoe size?"
"Uh, w-why?" I stuttered. Really, I sucked. This is me, a disgrace under pressure.
"We're going horseback. I'll ask my secretary to buy you suitable shoes for it."
"You should have told Gab. I might have shoes fitted for horseback. I can change if you want."
"No, we'll just buy one. Just tell me your shoe size."
"Uh, seven. But really, you don't have to. Or I'll just pay."
"No, Lily. I want to. No need to pay me. We'll eat first while waiting for the shoes. Have you eaten breakfast?"
