" I'm not being defensive, I'm just saying I'm not hiding anything and you aren't believing me."Parvina said back, definitely not trying to avoid raising her voice.

" Fine you want to yell I'll yell!" I said now raising my voice as well. " I'm not believing you because it doesn't add up. You're spending a lot of time in our room with the door locked. You're avoiding anything sexual with me. You won't even change in front of me and it's not making any sense. What did I do to you?"

" You didn't fucking do anything Jaxon okay! Just drop it!" She yelled.

" No I won't drop it! Are you seeing someone else? What, what is it!" I yelled back.

" You think I'm cheating on you! How dare you. I'm nothing but loyal to you!" She screamed as she began to cry.

" Okay, okay I'm sorry. What's wrong?" I asked softer as I reached out for her hand but she moved away.

" No, you think I would fucking cheat on you! If this is cheating then yep, I cheated on you okay!" She said in a fit of pain and anger as she rolled up her left sleeve and showed me her wrist.

I gasped as I saw the healing cuts that lay upon it and she seemed to realize what she'd just done because she took off running towards the bedroom.

" Parvina wait!" I shouted and chased her, luckily grabbing hold of her before she made it to the room.

" I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry." She cried as she dropped to my feet.

" Woah baby, it's alright. Let's get you to the couch so we can talk about this." I said and picked her up, carrying her to the couch before gently setting her down.

" How long has this been happening?" I asked concerned.

" Months." She mumbled.

" Did you say months?" I asked shocked. " You've been hiding this for months, holy shit babe."

" I'm really sorry." She said ashamed.

" It's okay, I'm not mad. I'm real sorry I yelled at you. What can I do to make things better?" I inquired.

" There's really nothing you can do Jaxon. I can't stop." She admitted.

" Well you've got to." I said. " I'll help."

" And that means a lot, but it's not that easy." She explained.

" Why not? I'll hide all the sharp stuff and then you'll be safe. Fuck I'll even throw it all away if that's what you need." I told her.

" I always find something else to use. It's a problem, I know it is." She said teary-eyed.

" So what then, do you want to see a shrink? I think my mom does pilates with one, I can get you her number?" I asked trying to come up with solutions.

" That's sweet Jax, but I think I need medication. A lot of it." She told me embarrassed.

" Oh okay, so a doctor then? Or a psychiatrist? Which one would be better?" I asked as I started googling psychiatrists in the area.

" I know this is a lot for you. Probably a psychiatrist would be better but set your phone down and take a minute." She said taking my phone from me.

"I just want to get you help. I'll pay whatever." I assured her.

" I know you will. But right now I just want to talk. Can we just talk?" She asked.

" Yeah we can talk." I said nodding.

" I want to be honest with you, so honestly I want to cut myself so badly right now. I feel like I've let you down and I'm so sorry for shouting at you and putting you through this." She said, biting at her lip nervously as she waited for my response.

" Okay, how can I make you not want to? And don't be sorry, I started it." I asked.

" I don't really know." She said sadly.

" Would a distraction help? I can play you the new song I just finished learning on the guitar." I suggested.

" Might as well try, yeah let me hear it." She said and so I played for her until my fingers cramped, but I didn't care because she was distracted and there was a smile on her face.
