Imagine: Thranduil and you not getting along, but after saving him in battle, you both have a change of heartRequest for: superwholockian101
You stomp into the throne room, your blood boiling with anger. You know better than to shout at your king, but you will not receive and report his foolish, incorrect orders any longer. Thranduil has been giving you-the captain of the guard-orders on where and when to attack the spiders, while drunk. Resulting in several guards being slaughtered for Thranduil's miscommunication, due to the excessive amounts of alcohol in his blood. When you receive his incorrect orders, you have no choice but to stand there with your mouth glued shut, because, if you don't, you could lose your job or worse...get banished from Mirkwood for correcting your king. Legolas and Tauriel-your best friends- have been talking you out of doing what you are about to do for the past couple of months, but today, nothing and no one can or will alter your decision.
"Thranduil!" You shout, stepping before him
His eyes widen at your sudden rage, and he straightens his posture.
"Yes?" He asks smirking
"I have held my tongue for the past few months, but today, I will not hold it any longer!" You shout, only making Thranduil's smirk grow
"You have been giving me orders, while drunk! I have had no choice but to go along with the incorrect orders, and deliver them, resulting in several of YOUR guards being slaughtered for being in the wrong place at the wrong time!" You chide, only becoming more angry at his amusement
"All I ask of you is to drink when you are away from your throne, NOT when you are in the midst of a crisis and giving orders" You finish, afraid of what is to come from his smirking lips
When you finish ranting, Thranduil's smirk diminishes and he leans forward.
"Tell me Y/N?" Thranduil starts "Why are you so angry about something so subtle?" He asks
You scoff in disbelief
"First of all, it is not subtle" You mock "Second of all, I cannot stand and watch my kin get slaughtered, all because of the wrong words that came from your mouth!" You say, quite insultingly
This time, Thranduil's eyes widen, and his lips stay straight.
"Very well, Y/N" He starts "You are no longer captain of the guard and Mirkwood is no longer your home, for HAVING THE AUDACITY TO YELL AT AND INSULT YOUR KING!" He shouts at the top of his lungs, making you flinch
You can't help but not feel ashamed or scared. You saw this coming.
"Pack your things and leave at once!" He shouts
You sigh, lowering your head in shame
You turn on your heels and begin to walk away.
"But-" He says, making you freeze "If you apologize, I will act as if none of this ever happened" He adds, catching you off guard
You turn around, take your chest plate off and toss it before him.
"It has been a pleasure serving you, my lord" You curtsy and run off to your room, before you can even see his reaction.
Yes, you just declined the chance to reclaim your job and home, but if you didn't decline, you would just appear to Thranduil as some desperate, vulnerable elleth. You might've just lost the job you felt so passionate about, which was your only form of income-but, you just gave your level of integrity a boost.
