Wednesday's pov:
The next few days went by in a blur. A blur that made Wednesday dizzy. The last meeting was the last time she saw you. Last time she saw you being relaxed and in a sense trusting. Whatever you spoke with the red masked woman clearly left you shaken. Whatever it was she hoped Agnes would notify her about it, but every update she gave didn't fit well in the missing puzzle piece of the conversation.
Y/B/F/N also saw what she was seeing. Unlike her who saw when the slight shift happened, she felt it in the interactions between cousins. You felt a bit distant- not the type that would set off alarms like a suicidal person pushing loved ones away but it was like retracting a finger an inch away from touching someone you would tickle under the table or hold pinkies with for comfort. You were on edge about something but all you offered your cousin was that a new member will be joining soon.
Better not be an ex or delusional fan, thought Wednesday. She had enough with Evelynn's teasing and mockery along with Neo's dehydrated gaze gulping you down.
Asking Atredis was out of the question because he would demand a massive payment which involved her embarrassing herself. She loved you but she also loved her dignity. All Atredis would get was a massive red pulsing mountain in his head from the cross she kept in her pocket to bonk him with when it was needed.
As for everyone else, she didn't trust them, especially Evelynn and Neo.
"So the fishing storage is a hard no. No floor plan or historical record shows or hints at a secret passage or information about what Galpin was investing. And all security cameras are fine. All that is left is the cabin," Agnes says, closing a notebook. "Keith has confirmed that Bradbury studied a bit of engineering before pivoting his education path. Also that he had built secret storage within the dorm to hide booze."
"Is there a record of him buying building equipment?" Asks Wednesday as she looks over the evidence. Agnes nods no. "Then let's try the black market and the back market. He may have also even known someone who had or was a part of a construction company."
Agnes nods and disappears to report to you. With the girl gone along with Thing and Atredis, she finally got an actual moment alone. The only company she now had was herself, her thoughts, her raging lonely heart, and Enid's stuffies. Stuffies that tried to give her reassuring smiles that everything would be okay.
I will not fall for such a lie again. Wednesday tore her gaze from the stuffies for she knew she would've torn them if she kept staring at their naive hopefull eyes.
Instead she starred at the Enid's suitcase for tomorrow's camping trip. It was so full yet so empty. With a sigh she began to pack herself. Shoving every weapon she had available into her suitcase and backpack. As she packed the more clear her mind became, as if she was unpacking her mind.
With each weapon or clothing item she folded in the more she cleared the piles of stress of war and genocide to reveal how she had yet to finish her investigation on Demons and Vampires connection along with your brother's investigation. It didn't help that the note your cousin gave her in the tunnels said she would explain the current treatment she's receiving from Vampires. Making her hope against her will that maybe you had changed your mind.
"You can come in," she says without lifting her head to greet your best friend/cousin. Soon the door creaked open completely.
"I have the information about why people keep calling you or treating you like a princess." Wednesday stopped what she was doing. Giving the vampire a curt nod to continue.
"Information on your relationship with Y/N got leaked-"
"So there's a traitor among us-"
"There's always a chance for that in politics and war, but this is not the case. Its more like Y/N gave me the order to help distract Evelynn from you and keep you safe from her burning patience."
