Wednesday's pov:
"Let me know if the music is too loud," says Wednesday as she hits play on her new phone. Soon the orchestra version of "Doom" by Bring Me the Horizon plays through the shallow room.
Yes it was yours but it didn't feel like you belonged in it. The walls lacked the emo band posters full of signatures and messages. Instead they were replaced by Victorian paintings and dark green wall with carvings.
The ceiling net that you had in Nevermore that had pillows and a random Sonic the Hedgehog blanket of the character Shadow were nowhere in your new room. The closest thing to the character was the red blanket with black lace covering your sleeping body.
Just like the lack of posters, net, and nerdy things like the figurines, books, and firefly lights, and other hipster stuff what was missing, the world in general felt shallow without you.
The last few weeks at Nevermore before break everything felt slow. Everyone had turned into zombies including herself. She didn't feel the cold sting of the snowflakes nor the warmth of the winter sun. She couldn't feel the annoyance of the Holiday music blasting or the dumb activities like ice skating.
"Even in your sleep they're forcing you to be someone else," she whispers as she sits down on the chair next to you.
"Everyone has written letters for me to read to you. Enid basically written a book with all these letters- a terrible book might I add. Worse than Colleen Hover."
Your sleeping face made no reaction. With a sigh she pulled out the folder containing the letters. One by one she read them all. First couple she read them with a bored face. No reaction came from you which came to the point she believed she was making fall deeper and deeper into your coma.
The second round which contained 30 letters which 25 were Enid's she decided to put in different tones as if she was in a play. The situation was eerily similar to Romeo and Juliet even though everyone kept telling it was Sleeping Beauty.
They are probably thinking about the knock off flashy one by that Rat. Wednesday visibly shivered when she recalled the original story to the princess. It was dark so dark that it looked more like a horror story than a fairy tale. But then again all fairy tales came from Grim backgrounds.
I would never be like that King. A sweat drop came down her temple. But would Evelynn?
Shaking her head she threw the thought away. No. She may be a succubus but she respects you far too much to do such a thing.
"No reaction?"
"Not even a hitch in breath."
Edgar sits next her with a grunt. "I was hoping maybe you'd be able to do it."
"Has Evelynn?" Edgar shrugs. Just like her seems like he wasn't being informed about your condition. They were treating both of them as if they were from the general public rather being family or lover. If I can even be considered a lover.
"Have you updated her on the case-"
Wednesday glared at him. He put his hands up in surrender.
"That is what got her here Edgar Y/L/N."
It was her stubbornness that pushed you to the brick of death three times! It was her obsession with the case that was now a full blown crisis waiting to blow up that drove the wedge between the two of you. It was her lack of understanding that was leading her to loose the one person who made her feel alive.
They both sat there silent for 10 while minutes. Their brains racking around memories, ideas, philosophy, and medical facts on how they can snap you out of your coma. Or at least get you to start moving.
"How about you talk about yourself?"
"She was furious the last time she saw me."
"She still loves you. Anger and love are strong emotions that get people to act- so questionable things."
"But the betrayal she feels is what can cause someone to give up. That love lead to that anger. That anger is now betrayal. It's easier to stay in such emotion than the other too- it saves one from those two extremes."
"Then kiss her."
The human girl snaps her head towards the vampire. Eye twitching.
"Fairy tales carry a lot of truths you know. They have hidden history within them. Outcast history that we had to hide to save it." He looks at her with sincere eyes. "Or at least hold her hand. She'll know it's you."
He gets up and squeezes her shoulder before returning to his post in front of your door.
Left alone with you she secretly ponders on what your cousin said. There I go being selfish with you.
"Y/N.... I...." She takes a deep slow breath and opens her mouth slightly. But nothing comes out. Not even air.
Closing her eyes tightly like her fists she abruptly stands up and makes way towards the door. Although the bed wasn't far from the door, each step she took put more miles between you two.
Reaching for the door a sound within the room hooks to her ear. Turning around abruptly she sees it was none other than Atredis. He cawed a welcome before nesting on top of your head, pecking it.
Before she knew it she was back by your side swatting the demon away from you. However, he had the audacity to nip her sleeve and pull her on top of you!
"HOW DARE YOU-" a vision smacks her head like she was trying to do to the demonic bird. Smashing her face inside the crook of your neck that smelled like lavender.
A sweet smell that followed her into what seemed like the throne room. There standing next to her was you. Or someone who looked like you.
"Queen y/m/n?" The identical face turns to face her. Revealing a child in her arms, chose to her chest.
A chest that was full of red that was dyeing the sleeping baby in her arms. Her eyes blood red with black ink coming out of her eyes.
In a blink the baby transformed into an adult- you. Dressed in what seemed to be torn coronation regal. A mask of blood was splattered across your closed eyes. The way your mother held you and the way you leaned limply in her arms almost looked like that one painting of the Virgin Mary with Jesus.
She gave her a twisted smile "Our blood earns for what is truly ours."
A sword appeared through Wednesday's chest. Looking to the side she saw your father's face full of unhinged madness. His eyes were purple instead of red.
"GET OFF OF HER!" Shouts a voice that yanks her out of the vision like her body off your shaking body.
It was Evelynn, your father, and others of the royal council.
"This reaction is more extreme than yesterday's! Bring some foam and restraints! Shouts Evelynn as she leans above you. Cupping your heavily sweating face.
"What did you filthy human do!?" Shouts your father.
"I did nothing-"
"Nothing Cassius! Just bad timing." Evelynn says. Not once removing her body or gaze from you.
He huffs deeply and shouts for her to be taken away.
Edgar quickly grabs her and walks her out.
The walk to her family's car was in complete silence. Not even the world dared to say a thing through the wind or crunching of the gravel.
Only sitting half in the car and half still out did the world return to Wednesday.
Staring straight into Edgar's eyes, she found the rage that she was forced to quell since the day Laurel Gates shot you.
"We've been fooled for the last time."
