Chapter 90: old dog, new tricks

 Y/N's pov:

Shooting a side glance at Y/B/F/N you tell her to hide her discomfort. It was bad enough that you had to worry about Tyler breaking through the bulletproof glass and chains to tear Wednesday apart.

Sensing your already acidic gaze on her, she straightens up a bit more. Allowing you to return to sniper-like eyes to the monitor screening the cell. More specifically, on Wednesday, rather than Tyler.

"It was inevitable. Your morbid curiosity would bring you here. I knew you couldn't resist seeing me again," cracks Tyler's voice through the monitor. His frantic eyes roam the girl you loved as if she were another meal to sedate his blood lust. Yet within it was an ever-deepening obsession. An obsession that was driving you insane for Wednesday shared it, but towards morbid things, just like Tyler stated. And sadly, he fell into said category.

Could it be that you cling to me because I'm morbid? Your mind slowly spiraled down an abyss of questions- old questions that would reappear whenever Wednesday was close to someone she had shown the same interest she had shown you before your relationship with her.

"Is that the deluded lie you keep telling yourself, sitting here in solitude?" Wednesday asks without dropping her emotionless face.

The boy smirks at her. "The only person lying to themselves is you. Wednesday. You sensed the monster in me."

Your cousin/best friend shuffled closer to you. Just like you, she could tell where this was going and the aftermath it would cause. A bloody aftermath.

"And you fell in love with it." Wednesday allowed him to keep talking. Something that made the shadows begin to crack the walls quietly. With you, she always interrupts when you say things like that or, in general, anything she deems stupid. Yet she was eating this fool's blabber away. Almost as if she enjoyed the stupidity coming out of his mouth. Maybe you were her idiot after all, like she claimed.

"I gave you something you couldn't find in the others. A connection- we're two black-hearted souls ready to pillage the world clean with carnage," he whispers sinisterly, causing Fairburn to shiver- a movement that didn't go unnoticed by you. "You need me!"

The security guard's hand lingered at the electric shock button. You fought the urge to hit for him and kept your hand on it till Tyler was an unrecognizable fried corpse.

"You're right, I couldn't resist seeing you chained up and caged. Makes my grim heart beat." Tyler made a subtle reaction of wanting to launch on Wednesday, but his screams soon soothed your nerves and made your heart rattle with happiness. A happiness that peeked through your lips.

"Y/N?" Whispers Y/B/F/N in concern. You act like you don't hear her. Instead, you focus on the view of the dirty blond bending and stumbling in agony.

"I don't need to visit again," states Wednesday before walking away.

"Tell Enid that I say hi," you, Y/B/F/N, and Wednesday freeze. "And the next time I see her I will kill her and make you watch it."

He gets back up with newfound rage and determination. His eyes were bloodshot with madness and thrill. "And tell that blood-sucking freak of yo-urs"

He stutters and deflates his head back into his rising shoulder while taking a step back. It was as if someone was scolding him or threatening him to stop. It seemed that even talking about you in a indidrect manner scared him. After a few seconds, he finds his courage again.

"No- as for you Wednesday- I'm going to take everything you love away. And you're going to see it all- Enid's death, your family's, and all of Nevermore's death." The shadows around you and in the cell dim the lights. Mirroring the dark thoughts and emotions waiting to consume everything around you.
