Wednesday's pov:

Scanning the 78th bookshelf in the Nightshades' library for any information on why her ability disappeared, the ravenette bangs her head softly on the creaky shelf.

"The Nightshades truly became a country club," she murmurs. Turning around, she finds Thing and Atredis also being empty-handed as well.

With nothing to fall on, Wednesday walks out of the secret library. The early morning darkness welcomed her with its chilly breath. Only a light blanket of fog erased bits of the main courtyard now.

"Come-" the sound of wings flapping pulled her to the side. The ocean of fog was split in half and made waves to the side. The dance of fog and sunlight revealed your frustrated face. Marching to one of the table you throw yourself stiffly on the bench and lit a cigarette.

Looks like we cornered you to do something bad again, she thinks as she sees the smoke blend with the fog that was slowly returning. Your eyes looked even more tired than the previous morning. Due to the lack of redness in them, it was safe to assume you didn't drink any of the vials she left for you to drink from.

It broke her heart seeing you so drained. A massive opposite to the you of last year, who was always smiling and full of energy. Now the smile you carried was the fake one you wore in front of the cameras to hide all the crushing stress and soul-sucking desperation of trying to save so many lives.

No matter how many puffs of the nicotine you took, it didn't relax you. Rather it looked like it was only making matters worse for you due to how your free hand clung to your hair as you crouched over your knees.

Should I.... Thing finished her thought by tapping how she should go talk to you.

"I'm still mad at her-" Thing reminded her how she pushed you out of the police's sight. If she was truly mad she wouldn't have done that. Nor would she have ran to the front door to intercept Sheriff Santiago from reaching your hiding spot.

"First, a double agent, now you're a therapist? Pick a struggle and stay there." Wednesday huffs before returning your gaze to you to avoid admitting that Thing was right. She wasn't as mad as she thought she would be because she didn't know if you really did it or not. And if you did it was out of your control. All honesty the anger was towards herself but like always she wanted to avoid admitting any fault within her person.

I'm killing that Vampire once this whole charade is over, she thinks to herself. You just had to keep unraveling her. Likewise she was your undoing as well because after last night in her room she looked back at the times you used and may have used your ability- you always held a face of terror or confusion. Even with your well trained muscles and mentality those emotions always seemed through the cracks that stress and desperation created on you.

Sadly one thing that didn't change which she wished that did.

You probably haven't told your father. The rising fog was starting to erase you from her sight. The only truly visible thing now was your bat-like wings. Unlike your body that was stiff your wings would twitch. On what was causing it was unknown but she could guess due to how full your work plate was.

Opening her mouth and stepping out thanks to the red web of faith she willingly threw herself into. "Y/-"

"Y/N." Furthering herself into the shadows she sees a blonde coming out of the shadows behind you. Rather than the cocky or seductive look her face was running with concern and a hint of frustration.

You made no move to acknowledge her except take another hit from your cigarette before her thin fingers plucked out and threw it somewhere in the morning dew.
