Author's note: WHAT'S THIS- ME POSTING TWICE BACK TO BACK! LOL I was feeling hella inspired. Sorry for how slowly these updates are coming. After graduating this summer, work has been taking my full attention. I'm aiming for the next chapter to come out next week.
Wednesday pov:
Instead of seeing the smokey nightly, her strained eyes were welcomed by the creaky ceiling of her dorm. Not a sight she expected but a welcome one. She was glad she didn't see Enid or you. If she did her mind probably would show Enid's bleeding face and your crazed one.
"You're awake," Wednesday mentally groaned and sat up. To her right was her mother while Atredis sat on the other end of the bed and Thing on the table by her bed on the left side.
"I know what those tears are...." began her mother. Half listening, her dark eyes wondered around the room. From the way things were placed, Enid must've gone to the bathroom. As for you, probably left to give her space or simply because of whatever deal you made with Evelynn.
"I don't have time for this," she gets up from her bed.
"You always believe the rules never apply to you" says her mother strictly.
They don't because I don't conform with the norm unlike you. Wednesday thinks as she grabs her coat, she had to find you. If anyone can help prevent Enid's death it would be you.
Her mind went through her past vision and she realized that Enid was the first dead body of the pile. The first step to your throne of corpses and anger's madness. That means Enid's death is what starts the domino effect.....
From behind Mortica follows her lost in thought daughter. From the way she saw her scramble but slowly pick up the queen piece.
Rubbing the piece in her hand, feeling the crack of the stab wound caused by Laurel Gates. And I'm to blame....
"I'm dead because of you!" screams Enid's vision version.
"Darling, examples must be made of those who betray us. Don't forget what she did to us," says Evelynn's vision version as she leaned on your angered vision self.
Closing her eyes and releasing a silent deep breath she reaches for the revolver, for only her mother's hand to fall on top of hers.
"Wednesday, your life is in danger."
"It always is."
"Not like this. You're the danger to yourself this time. You can't bend your psychic abilities to your will in such a way. It will fight back."
"But you want me to bend to yours? You can't tell me to blaze my own trail and then put your roadblocks on it." She pulls the gun away from her mother. Atredis caws and drops a few rounds in her hand for her to load in.
"I'm not your enemy. I'm your mother. I need you to understand that your ability isn't a weapon that can be deployed, it's something to be respected. Your human Wednesday- it can hurt you."
Staring into her eyes, Wednesday could feel her mother's urge to mold her into her design. "I liked it better when you were a crystal ball away."
Walking away her mother calls for her and even refers to the fact she may die which would give Wednesday her desired freedom. At the mention of death she slowed down- slightly. Only those close to her would be able to realize her change of pace.
"You'll be free to live your life as reckless as you want. I'll give you two days to give me Goody's book." Her mother pauses. A pause that clearly stated she wanted to say something else.
