Y/N'S POV:
Your body felt like it was dragged through a tree chipper and set on fire at the same time. Just breathing made you flinch in pain. Which only made your already drilling headache scratch your nerves more and derail your vision. The dark room looked like you were in a shattered kaleidoscope that was spinning.
The longer you had your eyes open the faster and tighter your stomach twisted. Making your empty stomach want to puke your organs out.
Yet having them closed only made your headache get worse. Eyes open the drill was a hand one but closed it felt like a power drill that breaks cement. At the same time felt like you were being bombarded by camera flashes.
Flashes of memories you don't remember but at the same time felt relieved to have again. And some of your old memories felt fake now. Causing a hurricane of emotions to storm through your head, recking your mind even more than it was already with the erupting headache. What life was the lie? Which one was the truth? Who were you really? An Earl or something else? Something more than royalty? Or beyond this world?
The one memory that kept running past your eyes like a bullet and reopened the wound on your back with it's flaming knife was the last thing you saw before you lost consciousness. Bat wings growing out of your back. Was that real? Or was that a fake memory? You couldn't tell, that memory like some was blurring between the true and fake. Confused on where it should place itself in this tense debate happening throughout your person.
This is not the time for a identity crisis! You think, pulling yourself up to sit only to crumble back onto the soft bed that felt like it was made out of loose and unbalanced needles. "FUCK- ACK!
Your voice scrapped against your throat. Okay let's not talk.
"You bounced back quickly." Says a tired voice. Turning over you see Crown Prince Edgar. "And don't think about bowing. You will no longer do it."
You flinch as you raise an eyebrow, questioning what he meant by that. The dark-haired boy sighed and ruffled your hair with a sincere smile. A smile that had a hint of sadness in it. He had eyebags under his B/F/E/C. His dark hair was messy just like his clothes.
"Is she awake?" Asks your Godfather, walking into the bedroom. Edgar shot up and kneeled before him. You tried to do the same thing on to nearly falling off the bed.
"Y/N!!!" The king's arms wrap around you like a blanket. A hiss roars out of you causing him to shout at Edgar to get the medics. You felt wings wrap blooming out of you to catch the air to avoid kissing the floor.
"I'm fine- I'm fine Godfather!!!"
His y/e/c drown you with concern asks they search your body for any physical injury. Seeing that you were fine in the outside he gently placed you back on the soft bed to sit.
"There's a lot to talk about. I'll answer whatever questions you have." He says pulling the chair Edgar was on. You couldn't help but squint your eyes at him, his claim posture could fool the whole counsel but it couldn't fool you. The way his cheeks slightly moved due to how fast his blood was rushing revealed his anxiety.
"Who am I? Who is the real.... me" you motion towards your wings.
He sighs and succumbs his face into his hands. A prickly laugh trickles out of him as he whispers 'of course'.
"You're just like your mother Y/N. It seems I've always been the emotional one in this family." He looks at you and takes your left hand. Cupping it as if he was a little boy too scared to let go if the firefly he had caught but at the same time scared to squish it due to how tight his grip was. The wonder of such success was evident in his eyes. "Please, listen first. This is quite the story. Your father was never Earl Y/L/N nor his wife your mother. She's actually my wife's twin sister.... your mother who was my Queen for 80 years."
For the next 20 minutes, the world you grew up in was shattered into a thousand pieces and thrown into the sky to become stars. Stars that brighten the darkness in your heart. The treatment you faced as a child from your supposed parents made sense now. Your aunt was trying to keep her distance due to how much you looked like her and your mother. She didn't want to grow attached and forget about her actual children. Yet in the end she didn't have a connection with either side- you or her children. As for your uncle, the Earl was trying to prepare you to fight for the throne."
I always felt like King Cassius Tepes was too familiar with me compared to his son but then again royals are distant from each other. "Let me guess Edgar is their son?"
He nods. "Since he was 10 he proved he was worthy of becoming the next Earl. Same with Y/B/F/N. Proved to be a great shield and advisor."
Hope our friendship wasn't a lie like everything else. "Why?"
"I failed to protect your mother. The one person who brought me to my senses. And when I lost her I..." he looks away. His body deflating more as he pulled his hands away from your's. "Almost went back to my ways. I was scared I was going to loose you too. So I did what I had to do. Made you and everyone outside of House Y/L/N forget you and your brother were my children and think Edgar was my son. Made everyone forget about your mother- our enemies were going to come for you two- I didn't want to lose the last thing I loved. The greatest gifts my love gave me."
A broken sob shatters out of him. "But in the end I failed. You had to kill your brother and your brother became just like me. Hell bent of reconquering our old glory!"
"I'm so sorry I was never there like I should've been. Sometimes I wonder if killing all the normies would've kept both of you safe!" he sobs.
You nod. Your now father sat there in silence. Waiting for you to storm him with more questions. To lash out at him for abandoning you. To hit him and scream cruel things. He was ready to face retribution in such physical and emotional manner that he didn't think about the mental punishment. Your silence truly showed how silence was violent for he was alone his guilt and fear. Just like you.
You wanted to cry, laugh, scream, run away, hide under the covers, and smile. So many emotions bubbled in your chest as questions jammed your brain. So many feelings that you felt nothing.
After 20 whole minutes, you spoke. "Now what?"
Your father's head snapped up with hope glimmering in his eyes. "Tonight during the blood moon ball I will return everyone's memories of our past. And you will be claimed my heir. And if you will allow it, become my Queen and rule as father and daughter. Of course, I won't force you to be Queen immediately. Once you graduate."
You nod. In the corner of your eye, you see Evelynn. Hiding inside the shadow realm's border. Your fingers that were still under the covers felt the shadows curl around them gently. Telling you that it would all be okay.
"I have one condition to become Queen. And I think it's fair." Your father perks up.
"Wednesday Addams will be-"
Evelynn's POV:
Her eyes rolled at your request. After what happened you still cared. But at the mention of her own name she smirked.
She was getting closer. While Wednesday was getting further and further by the seconds. Sure it was just a step but in a game of chess it was grand. Closer to killing the Queen and capturing the King before ruling the other side.
All is going exactly as we dreamed it would Y/N.
