Y/N's pov:

"Anything on your end?" You ask as you close another digital folder within the phone through your computer.

"Just a cheating case," states Y/F/N.

"Just more bullshit," says Ramona, popping a bubble gum bubble.

Groaning, you click on another file. The voice message old investigator Carl Bradbury left for Galpin rung through your mind.

Bullpen- where is that!? Seeing that the last digital file was full of nothing, you slam your laptop closed. The night just kept getting longer and longer.

"Well, at least we know whatever is happening is pointed to Nevermore.... again." Y/F/N gets up and stretches. Ramona follows suite.

"Thanks, guys. Sorry for waking you guy up or whatever Y'all were doing." The pink-haired roller blader shrugs and salutes you good night. As for the vampire, they yank your computer away.

"Hey!"

"Just because Y/B/F/N isn't here doesn't mean you get away with over exerting yourself." flipping them off, you jump on your bed and stare at the ceiling. The shadows stared back at you, tempting you to enter their realm and never leave.

"Agnes get the fuck out." Getting up, you see your friend hosting something up. At first glance looked like she was pinching air, but soon a red-haired girl with wide eyes appeared in their grip.

The human girl smiled and held her hands out to you. A black iPhone with Tyler's baby photo greeting you.

"This doesn't make up for what you did to Wednesday." You wave your hands- signaling Y/F/N to drop the vanisher girl.

"OH I know, but I thought you should look at it before I give it to her as a token of loyalty." Your friend rolls their eyes and dips. Mouthing and swirling her finger that the red head was crazy.

"How?" Snatching the phone you see it was in mint condition.

"I was spying on Galpin when I saw crows gathering- an hour before the attack I followed him in and grabbed it. Then I sounded the alarm to Keith."

Connecting the phone to your computer you let the system begin to highjack it. Hoping that maybe what Bradbury was referring to was there.

Watching your screen load and the percentage numbers dance like flames, more thoughts plague your mind.

"Do you need anything else?" You ask looking over your shoulder to the starry eyed girl. Even after Evelynn rejected her obsessive loyalty the pale girl still glowed with hope to be accepted by someone she looked up too. However, how could one accept someone when they are trying to become said person rather than themselves.

Rather than wearing expensive clothes and detailed make up, Agnes now wore no make up and piggytails. Wednesday was her goal now.

"Can you tell me about Wed-"

"Fat chance." Agnes' smile drops yet her determination to still please you doesn't.

With a frustrated sigh you turn your full attention to her. "She..... likes unconventional food."

Her nods shake a smile back on her face as if it was a magic 8 ball. "But the type that would make all health departments in the world faint..... but she lowkey likes sweets that normal humans wouldn't."

A small smile kisses your mouth as you remember how she stole your blood lollipop last year and how she had ordered a bunch for herself later on. "Like Vampire blood candy."

"Uh-huh!"

"Agnes," you look into her eyes seriously and down at her as you tower over her now. The girl blinks in shock and terror on how quick you closed the distance between the two of you. "This little prank you're pulling on her ends in the next 20 hours. And just know it may not even win her over. If it doesn't I won't hesitate to find someone else to be mine and my girlfri- partner's communicator."

Agnes nods and walks out the room with a bow.

Once the door was shut and you couldn't hear anyone pull out your board. Scribbling new findings and archiving old ones, a new red map was drawn on your board.

"Come on, come on- tell me what I'm missing." Pulling out the information you had on Enid you flip through it to see if there was anything else about her other than defeating Tyler and being friends with Wednesday that would make her a target.

Middle class family in tech- no history in nobility- type parents blood O negative and AB- blood..... your stomach, heart, and brain quivered. Soon you found yourself doing basic DNA pattern tables. Each table you made and repeated the same combination that made clear sense.

A combination that has death's bony hands on it.

Scrambling to your phone you call a few labs up and demand an expedited blood test for Enid.

The night truly did stretch itself tonight like the red strings of fate and evidence. Stretching ever thinly like drying blood vessels on a dead body.

Evelynn's pov:

Strunching her nose at Pugsley she enters the bee shed. The clingy boy had just fallen asleep. Knocking out immediately as if a semi truck had run him over. He even sounded like one as he snored away.

She fought the urge to stomp him out like a bug due to his life still having now two pennies' worth of life to her.

A dried groan drew her attention away from the sleeping boy. There in the corner stood a heavy decomposed corpse who was clearly an male.

The top right side of his head had a huge hole that showed his empty brain. On the same side his right eye was missing his eyelids, making his eyeballs look abnormally big- almost cartoonish. As for his left eye was missing but still had the eyelids.

Similar to the upper face he was missing his nose and lips. Honestly, very little skin and flesh was seen on the zombie. And the bones he wore were just a soft gust of wind away from disintegration. The hair on his head was no different- it was just a few hand strands that clinging onto him with all his might.

The only thing on him that wasn't fully or too heavily destroyed was the lab gown the man wore. But it was heavily dirty due to how brown the entire outfit was.

A smirk cuts through the stoic face's purple lips. The yellow eyes' pupils become thin like a cat's.

"Welcome back to the land of the living," she tilts the monster's head towards her. It groans in shock once it sees her gleaming eyes through the thinly lit night under the crescent moon. Her fangs rivaled her eyes' brightness. "Issac."

Issac the zombie nudged his face into a purple hand that held sharp long claws. The ticking of the zombie's heart ticked faster than before with excitement.

Tick tock- tick. Tock.

Y/B/F/N pov:

The light of the thinly slight moon bleeds into the dorm room. Dimly lighting a bit a small portion of the still room. No sign of life was shown for the Vampire girls who normally stayed in the room were off on missions to help stop the incoming war. Galpin's death only added to the weight of their duty. A duty that was crushing Y/B/F/N as she laid under her sheets.

Reaching out of the covers, her hand imagined it was gripping the bow shaped light on the ground. Moving her fingers- flicking, twirling, and pointing like you do when commanding the shadows.

But nothing moved. Not even a tiny budge.

Now the slit light had a rival in the room. A slit glowing red eyes, bleeding anger.
