Author's note: Friendly reminder that this story doesn't follow 100% the canon story from the show because I want the reader to feel like they are a part of this world rather than being an insert. Secondly, I want to explore more of the world the show is in. And since this show does touch on important topics like discrimination and the history of it in the U.S- this chapter and the next will discuss, the Underground Railroad. But the take on the historical road to freedom is inspired by the book "The Underground Railroad" by Colson Whitehead whose story depicts it as an actual railroad that was underground. Highly recommend the book!

Lastly, this will be one of the last chapters where things are chill for everybody in this story! So prepare yourselves!

Wednesday's pov:

Thing stirs her awake right at 2:50 sharp. Just like the dead, the night was lightless and still. No rain nor wind strolled through the streets of Jericho. Making it easy for the enemy to see their every movement and vice versa.

At a time like this, Wednesday wished Enid would've placed back the colored filters on her side of the room on the large windows. The colors would've distorted the view from the outside, making sneaking around and doing her end of research easier. Now all her case files were shoved into her closet. Making it difficult to see the full image of the situation at hand when she compared it to the past and future.

Gripping tightly to the documents she hid in her pajama she waited till the shadows claimed her and Thing like a Venus flytrap. Soon she found herself in strong arms holding her.

"Morning," you say before letting her go.

Looking up she saw your gentle and yet again tired eyes. Even with one of them being replaced with your demon Louch's eye to help you grab people, the demon's light screen over your right eye only highlighted your dimming energy.

"This is the new place?" She asks. Around her was a damp tunnel that had train tracks that haven't been touched in decades. Seeing how barley lit it was and the creaky busted stairs that led from the DIY platform to a bunker door, there was no doubt you were all in the underground railroad.

"No. We're using this to tackle the last half of the trip to Montreal," answers Y/B/F/N. Just like you, she seemed tired. But unlike the others on the platform she got up from her spot and sat next to her.

Slipping a note from her sleeve she quickly flicks it to Wednesday. She looks up and sees the young Vampire giving her a serious face. A face full of stiffness and calculation that told her everything she needed to know about the note. She had found a way to patiently save you from Evelynn. Causing her heart to drill into her ears as her brain made visions of its own about what the note held.

"You could've have brought energy drinks at least?" Asks Jinix as she waddles behind Evelynn. Isha and Ekko gently guided her. "Can't we have it here?"

"Almost every outcast knows that these tunnels exist to the point they are used for illegal shit-"

"Like that fighting ring you five idiots would join in?" Asks Pidge as she eyes you, Y/B/F/N, and Keith.

Who were the other 2? Wonders Wednesday as Gloria asks the same question out loud.

"Mira and Vi...." Keith mutters.

"AND YALL NEVER INVITED US!?" shouts Jinix and Catra at the same time.

"Is that why you had a black eye during our second anniversary?" Asks Evelynn as she cups your face right in front of her. Her golden eyes looked deeply into Wednesday's dark ones. Pouring oil into the rising volcanic eruption in her veins as she held you closely.
