This is a request from @Atla08  Enjoy!

How much time had passed, since Etho killed him?

He didn't know anymore. Time had passed so quickly in his head, that he couldn't remember.

Yet, he did remember the events that night.

He had killed Tango with a TNT trap, and in revenge, Etho had killed him.

Joel missed Etho. Not this version, but the one from Double Life.

They were soulmates, what happened to that?

But Joel had to push that away. It wasn't Double Life anymore.

Him and Etho weren't soulmates anymore.

Joel sighed, holding his head in his hands. He needed some fresh air. Standing up from his bed, Joel left his room, and walked towards the exit of the Bad Boys mansion.

"Joel? Where are you going?" Grian called out from behind. Joel turned to look at the dirty blond, sighing.

"I'm going for a walk. I need some time to myself." Joel replied, seeing Grian nod, before walking away. Joel left the mansion, and started to walk around the server. He decided to go to skynet, then he could be all alone.

Climbing up, Joel kept watch, in case there was a surprise attack. Nothing happened, and Joel got to the top safely. He sat down, staring out into the night sky.

He was all alone, until he heard footsteps from close by. Quickly, he jumped up, and pulled his sword out. He turned around, only to come face to face with the man that was clouding his thoughts.

"No need to attack. I'm not going to kill you again." Etho spoke, his voice clear as a bell. Joel scoffed, rolling his eyes.

"What do you want Etho? You killed me already, what else do you want from me?" Joel asked, still holding his sword tightly.

"Wow, you aren't letting me walk around skynet? Rude." Etho retorted, crossing his arms. Neither of them said anything, before Etho turned around and started to walk back where he came from.

As Joel watched Etho leave, the words that have been stuck in his head let themselves out, and he spoke without thinking.

"I miss what we once were." Joel called out, quickly covering his mouth. Etho stopped, but he didn't turn around.

"I do too. But this isn't the right universe. Maybe just in another one, Joel."

Etho continued to walk away again, and Joel watched his former soulmate leave until he couldn't see him. Etho's words hit Joel like a knife, and he looked down. He was all alone again.

Yet, while neither of them knew, both Etho and Joel still carried one thing.

Regret.
