There is a saying.

'When your lover dies, the sky cries.'

No one ever really thought about the saying, until the Battle of the Red Desert.

[----------]

As Scott cradled Jimmy's dead body close to him, the sky darkened. He felt drops of rain start to fall on him, and he remembered the saying. The saying that his mother told him years ago.

'When your lover dies, the sky cries.'

Scott only held Jimmy's body closer, not caring if Jimmy's blood stained his shirt. The arrow was still in his head, the arrow that had ended Jimmy's life. He sobbed into his husbands hair, feeling more rain drop onto them.

Soon, the light rain turned into a downpour, and the battle still went along. Scott didn't care, he continued to sob, rain pouring down onto them.

Soon enough, the rain slowly turned back into a light shower, as the battle finally ended. Scott looked down, only to find Jimmy's body gone, his items were the last thing that remained of him.

While Scott continued to grieve, he thought of two things.

He will get revenge on Jimmy.

But, why was the sky crying for longer than usual?

When the King fell, Martyn's scream echoed through the courtyard.

Getting rid of his current opponent, Martyn looked around to find any sight of the now-dead King. When he saw the brown hair and ears, Martyn immediately knew where Ren was.

Rushing over to where Ren lay, Martyn collapsed onto his knees, holding Ren's hand. He started to sob, bringing Ren's cold hand to press it against his forehead.

The sky darkened more, until a downpour started.

Martyn already knew the saying 'When your lover dies, the sky cries' and that only made him sob harder as he came to the realization that Ren was dead.

He didn't even care that Scar was right behind him, holding a bow in his hand.

When Martyn turned around, he was already hit with an arrow, and he flinched.

Yet he didn't leave Ren's side, so when Scar's arrow drove into Martyn's chest, he fell to the ground, still holding Martyn's hand.

As he died, alongside his lover, the last thing he noticed that the downpour slowly stopped, and turned back into a light shower.

Huh, guess that saying was true.

Scar fell into Grian's arms, his body bloody, unmoving. Grian immediately started to sob, holding his lover close, pressing their foreheads together.

As Grian sobbed, the didn't realize that the sky darkened around them, and soon, it started to pour.

Yet he didn't care.

He continued to wail into Scar's unmoving chest, his whole body shaking, crying out apologies to Scar, even though he was dead.

As Scar's body started to fade away, Grian pulled himself from his hold, and walked towards to the edge of the cliff.

The downpour continued, the blood on Grian's body being washed off from the rain.

As he looked back to see Scar one last time, his body almost gone. Grian blew Scar a kiss for the last time as Scar's body faded away completely.

And Grian fell off.

The downpour started to lighten into a light shower, as Grian's body slammed into the ground.

Pain flared through his body before he died, the rain now almost gone.

He knew that saying. The same saying that had truly happened to the other two pair of lovers.

He didn't know that saying would happen to him.

'When your lover dies, the sky cries.'
