Dr. Vale
Rosetta traced her fingers over the textured business card, the script elegant and inviting. She tapped her nails on the desk, deep in thought, unable to shake the curiosity gnawing at her. Finally, she reached out to him, sending a message through her scrollmail. To her surprise, he responded almost immediately, inviting her to come via Floo Network to his office in Florence for a session.
She hesitated for a moment before sending a quick text to Lucius:
"Leaving the office for a bit. Going to have a session with Dr. Vale. We'll talk tonight."
Almost immediately, her spellphone buzzed. Lucius's name flashed on the screen. She took a deep breath and answered.
"Rosetta, what are you doing?" Lucius's voice was tense, his concern evident.
"It's just a therapy session, Lucius. I need to understand him better."
"We agreed to be careful. This doesn't feel right."
"I know, but I need to do this. We'll talk tonight."
"Rosetta, please reconsider."
"I'll be careful. I promise."
Before he could protest further, she ended the call, feeling a mix of guilt and determination. She stepped into the Floo Network, the green flames whisking her away to Florence.
Dr. Vale's office was as sophisticated as she remembered. The ambiance was calming, yet there was an underlying intensity to the place. Dr. Vale greeted her with his usual enigmatic smile.
(Mads Mikkelson who plays Hannibal Lector, the character Dr. Vale was somewhat modeled after in approach and directness.)
"Rosetta, welcome. I'm glad you decided to come."
She nodded, feeling a mixture of anticipation and apprehension. "Thank you for seeing me on such short notice."
"Please, have a seat. How can I assist you today?"
As she settled into the chair, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was stepping into a carefully laid trap, yet her curiosity pushed her forward. "I've been thinking a lot about our last conversation. There are things I need to understand, about you and about myself."
Dr. Vale leaned forward, his eyes locking onto hers with an intensity that sent a shiver down her spine. "I'm here to help you uncover those truths, Rosetta. Let's begin."
Before they could begin, Rosetta's spellphone buzzed incessantly, breaking the atmosphere. Lucius's name flashed repeatedly on the screen, his concern evident through his persistence. Dr. Vale's curiosity was piqued.
"Is everything alright?" he asked, a hint of amusement in his voice. "Is he allowing you to come see me?"
Rosetta silenced her spellphone, her jaw set with determination. "I don't need permission," she said firmly. "Lucius is just... protective."
