LV 3 [a lockdown comedy] (scene 15) - Danny's Back!

The scene opens with Jesse and Kelsea on the living room couch. They are on their phones.
Jesse: Hey, Kelsea? I just got a text from Drea saying that Danny's running a temperature.
Kelsea: (confused) The same thing, too. I wonder what she means. I mean, it's Danny. He's always up to something. (The doorbell rings, and Jesse goes to open the door. There at the door is Danny, who seems to be out of breath, as he has been running for a while) [laugh track]
Danny: (in between breaths) Hey, big guy! Danny's back, baby! [applause track]
Jesse: (surprised at Danny's arrival) I can't believe I'm saying this, but you're hot, man!
Kelsea: (walks toward them) Literally [laugh track]. Take a shower first.
Danny: I'll do just that. (gives a dimpled smile) Right after I hug my little brother!
Jesse: (with a slightly disgusted look on his face) Danny, please don't. (Danny hugs Jesse with his sweaty arms. Jesse fakes sobs) No! Kelsea, make it stop [brief laugh track]
Kelsea: (laughing lightly) I could, but I'm enjoying this [another laugh track]
Danny: (releases himself from hugging Jesse. He stares at Jesse dramatically and says in a slightly baritone voice) I have been miserable without you.
Jesse: (confused) Danny, we've been chatting since April. That's been 5 months, not 5 years.
Kelsea: (protests) Hey! Now I'm not enjoying this anymore. I thought I was your Kesha [laugh track]
Danny: (leaves Jesse and smiles at Kelsea) I never forgot you, Kira. (faces the kitchen door) You guys got any snacks?
Kelsea: (smiles at Jesse) Now that's the Danny I know.
Jesse: Why are you so bothered about Danny?
Kelsea: Cause he's cute and stupid [laugh track] (Danny comes out of the kitchen with four bags of chips. One has already been opened, the other three still untouched)
Jesse: Danny, what exactly brought you here?
Danny: (scoffs) Come on, bro! I can't see you and Kelsea without some crazy backstory behind it?
Logan: (rushes into the living room through the front door. He sights Jesse and Kelsea but doesn't seem to notice Danny by the kitchen door) Jesse? Kelsea?! I heard Danny snuck out of the house and is on his way here! (He finally sees Danny and raises an eyebrow) Hello, Danny.
Kelsea: (with a thoughtful tone) Hmm, this crazy backstory sounds like something you'd do, wouldn't it?
Danny: (stuffing another handful of chips in his mouth) We all know the answer to that question [laugh track]. (All of them nod in agreement)
Tracy: (comes out of the kitchen) Cut him some slack, Logan? What's wrong with Danny sneaking out of the house to see his friends after almost 6 months?
Logan: Everything you said is wrong with Danny visiting [brief laugh track]. But then, what's the worst that could happen? (All of a sudden, Danny coughs. The entire room becomes quiet) [another laugh track]
Tracy: Daniel? Did you (pauses in disgust) cough?
Danny: (nervously) How about I say no? And we can all enjoy this happy reunion.
Jesse: Drea said you were running a temperature.
Logan: And so did your mom on the phone.
Tracy: (she realizes the meaning of the statement. She looks terrified as she chooses her words) Oh, no! We hugged. In the kitchen. And you were warmer than the hot meteorite that killed the dinosaurs [laugh track]
Kelsea: Running a temperature?! You ran here, but you were already sick - with a high temperature! (She widens her eyes as she does the maths. She quickly uses a pillow to push Jesse towards Tracy and Danny, then throws it away simultaneously. She rushes back to stand with Logan) [laugh track]
Logan: I'm sorry, but we have to lock you all in one room. We can't risk getting sick because of one person.
Tracy: (scoffs) Logan, you're being ridiculous. This is Danny, your former student. And your favourite.
Jesse: (protests) Miss Tracy, I'm the favourite.
Tracy: Sweetie, this is your friend's moment. Let him have it! [laugh track]
Kelsea: (turns to face Logan) They're right. It might just be a coincidence. Let's solve this in a civil manner.
Logan: (nods) Yes, Kelsea. I think I have the perfect idea...

The scene quickly changes to show Logan and Kelsea sitting on a smaller couch closer to the door, while Tracy, Jesse, and Danny are sitting on the couch closer to the dining room.
Jesse: (smiles to himself) I think I like this arrangement better. Not bad.
Danny: Yeah! It gives me the chance to fly across the clearly spacious room. Nice work done, Mr Logan! [laugh track]
Logan: (unimpressed, whispers to Kelsea) This is your idea of perfectly civil?
Kelsea: Even I am disappointed [another laugh track]
Tracy: (staring at her phone for a while) I think Kelsea was right. Danny isn't really feeling well, but don't panic. It's not COVID. (Everyone heaves a sigh of relief) His mom is almost at the door. Logan, you have to collect the rest of his medicine from her.
Logan: Really? When does she get here? (He stands up to open the door. Just then, a small bag of medicine pills are thrown at him, followed by a small envelope containing some money) [laugh track]. (He feels the content of the envelope) This might be extra money for medicine. Wow, Danny, you're a real handful. There's no way you're sleeping over. (Just then, a crumpled ball of paper is thrown at him next. He opens the paper and reads the note silently). Oh, I'm being paid to let him stay at the house for a few days. (calls out) Thanks, Mrs Potter! (The car horn is heard twice, followed by the screeching tires as the car drives off) Wow, it's good to know that someone still regards social distancing [laugh track] (Logan closes the door behind him)
Danny: Just so we're clear, Lincoln isn't coming back here, right?
Tracy: No, Lincoln has gone back to stay with Neil. It's been a week now.
Danny: (excitedly) Then, I guess I'm back with the family! [applause track]
Logan: Oh, no. For the rest of today, Kelsea and I are a family. You three stay right over there.
Kelsea: And have these. (Kelsea and Logan throw the medicine pills, the empty envelope and, for some reason, the crumpled paper)
Jesse: Why did you throw the paper?
Logan: (shrugs) It also said we should toss everything at you
Jesse: That makes sense [final laugh track]. (The scene ends with Danny, Tracy, and Jesse nodding in agreement with the instruction, while Kelsea and Logan remain seated close to the front door).
