LV 4 (scene 14) - One Ruddy Scene

The scene opens with Logan and Tracy clearing the dining table while having a very casual conversation.
Tracy: I don't get why you just won't admit it. It's been so many years. Just admit the truth about your favourite student
Logan: (picking up a spoon) Tracy, I've told you already. I don't have a favourite Jesse [laugh track]
Tracy: We have to hurry up and start filming. Too bad we'll be gone the whole day.
Logan: Yeah. I wonder how Danny and the others are doing at school. They might not be perfect, but they're surely well-behaved.
Tracy: I hope it's a different Danny you're describing [laugh track]. (A knock is heard on the door, and Tracy opens it. Jesse walks in with a basket of muffins. He has his backpack, obviously ready for school)
Jesse: Morning, everyone. My parents brought this for you since they missed your birthday last week. And I'm late for school, so I have to go.
Tracy: (takes the basket) Tell them I appreciate their gift to us [brief laugh track]
Logan: (rolls his eyes) My gift, Tracy. (to Jesse) So, how's your science project with Rudra coming up?
Jesse: Rudra is like the Davenport of our time. We're going to enjoy this project without any hitches. (He freezes in a trance, and the camera closes in on his glowing right eye, followed by the speeding green wave of light. The vision opens with Rudra holding severely destroyed motor parts and glaring at Danny)
[Rudra: (slightly stuttering) You. You are a monster! Look what you did (Danny slightly quivers)]
(The vision quickly closes, and the green wave of light disappears. The camera reveals his eye and, finally, his full face. He regains consciousness and turns to Tracy and Logan)
Tracy: Something is about to go wrong?
Jesse: Yes. Bye [laugh track]. (Jesse quickly runs out of the house with his backpack)...

Later...
Jesse's school is shown for the first time after being mentioned a few times before, Clarkson Middle School. The name is titled in front of the building, designed in big cursive font with a rabbit at the right side of the letters. The building itself is mostly painted ivory with orange window frames and small designs of education-related artefacts such as beakers, animals, and the likes. The interior of the school is mostly ivory and orange painted with blue coloured lockers. Students are shown walking to and from their classes. The theatre room, the science lab, the robotics lab, and a large conference hall are viewed. The school interior and exterior are very impressive. Right until the camera focuses on Rhiannon, Rudra, Kelsea, and Danny in their 8th grade classroom. Apparently, they're demonstrating a machine that Rudra designed with help from his friends in a kind of presentation to their teacher, Mr. Tucker, and the entire class.
Rudra: (smiling) Yes, Mr. Tucker, that is why I single-handedly designed this pick-up tractor prototype to help us in our daily lazy lives.
Kelsea: Wow, Ruddy. What a way to throw us under the tractor [laugh track]
Tucker: Rudra, your group assignment is amazing. But it's a little too familiar, like the ones I see in TV shows.
Rhiannon: Strangely, it feels like we're in one.
Rudra: Well, it doesn't matter, Mr. Tucker, cause my tractor can do more than just drive and pick up stuff. It can also do this. (He pushes some buttons on his remote control, and the tractor picks up a stapler on the table and throws it across the stunned classroom. The stapler narrowly misses a student at the back as it hits a nearby shelf and falls. Everyone stares in horror at what has just happened) [laugh track]
Danny: I know I'm crazy, but what kind of stunt is that?
Tucker: Rudra Khanna? You could hurt someone with that. I think that's enough show and tell for today.
Rudra: Mr. Tucker, I will have you know that my machine isn't just for show. It tells amazing feats. Watch and learn! (He clicks on something, and the pick-up tractor starts to pick and throw random objects around the class. Rudra realises that there's a glitch)
Kelsea: (alarmed) What are you doing? Stop the dang machine!
Rudra: (panicking) I'm trying. (The tractor throws a knife out of the window. There's a car crash sound heard offscreen, followed by a loud bang and screams of horror) [laugh track]
Rhiannon: Who the heck is laughing?!! [another laugh track]
Mr. Tucker: (worriedly) Rudra, we get it now. Stop the truck.
Danny: Amateur. (He pounds hard on the top of the tractor, and it releases the glass of water on the table and splashes it on Mr Tucker's sweater vest. The tractor comically stops working as the four students stare in worry and fear at the final outcome. The class is also stunned as well) [brief laugh track]
Mr Tucker: Well, it can't get any worse.
Jesse: (suddenly appears at the door holding a baked pie) Sorry, I'm late. Famous stuff [laugh track]. (He scans the classroom and realises the damage he was rushing to fix has already happened)
Rhiannon: (whispers to Kelsea) What's with Rudra? (Rudra is shaking visibly at the slightly broken tractor that Danny damaged with his fist. He looks irritated, angry, and sad at the same time)
Rudra: (slightly stuttering) You. You are a monster! Look what you did (Danny slightly quivers)
Danny: I'm sorry, Rudra. But even I wouldn't create a killer machine [laugh track]
Jesse: How late am I?
Rhiannon: (walks up to Jesse) Late to get a pie that I've been craving for. (She tries to take it from Jesse, but he holds it tightly and firmly) Thank you.
Jesse: The pie is not for you, Rhiannon. (The two start struggling for it).
Mr. Tucker: Then who? (Jesse lets go, and Rhiannon gets the pie, but she accidentally slips as she does an about turn, and the pie flies right into Mr Tucker's face. Jesse and Rhiannon are clearly terrified now) [laugh track]
Jesse: (nervously) For you? [another laugh track]

After school, at Logan's home, Jesse is telling Logan and Tracy what happened at school.
Logan: So you got me dragged out of my photo shoot to get you out of detention because you were late?
Jesse: I told you about the machine and the pie incidents
Logan: (scoffs) Jesse, those are common experiences in our everyday lives [laugh track]. The only good thing is that Rudra doesn't know you saw it coming.
Jesse: Because he would be terrified that his friend is a psychic?
Tracy: Oh, no. You would have had a boring school day if you averted it [brief laugh track]
Jesse: (confused) What kind of guardians did my parents hire for me?
Tracy: The crazy type (smiles) and the glamorous type.
Logan: I'm the fashionable one [laugh track]. (Just then, someone knocks on the door. Logan opens it, and standing there is Harleen)
Harleen: Evening, Mr & Mrs Hilson.
Logan/Tracy: (disgusted) Bleh! [laugh track]
Harleen: I'm sorry. I thought you're married.
Tracy: Why would I be married to or dating this guy? (suddenly grins) Come on, sweetie, there's something I want to show you in the kitchen.
Logan: Huh? [brief laugh track] (Logan follows Tracy to the kitchen with a confused expression on his face. Harleen sits beside Jesse)
Harleen: Hey, Jesse. I wanted to - (She pauses and looks at Jesse for a while)
Jesse: What's wrong?
Harleen: Did you lose one of your green contacts? [laugh track]
Jesse: (realises he's about to have a vision, and Harleen just saw his iris glow green. He becomes nervous briefly, but he grins a lottle) Um, yeah, I forgot. (He shows a green contact lens to her) I'll put it in later. I'm tired.
Harleen: (shrugs) OK. I thought you had superpowers. Just like Rudra is a clumsy tech whiz.
Jesse: I believe clumsy is an understatement for what happened today [laugh track]
Harleen: (stands up to leave) Sorry about Rudra once again. And take care of your eyes. For one thing, your contact lens is weird like you. (She steps outside but turns back to smirk at him) I like weird, though.
Jesse: (smiling as he closes the door) Thank you. (He turns around and sees Logan and Tracy grinning widely) Oh, no. I know that face.
Tracy: On behalf of your fans, I prefer Jarleen to Vesse [laugh track]
Logan: Jesse, don't worry. We'll play it cool. (He turns to Tracy) Tell Danny that the evolution of Jarleen has begun like we hoped for [brief laugh track]. (The two quickly leave an irritated Jesse in the living room)
Jesse: Mr. & Mrs. Hilson?! Get back here! [final laugh track].
