LV 4 (scene 1) - what if I said it'd be an iced summer?

The scene opens with several shots of Denver, Colorado, before finally settling on the exterior of Logan's home. Eventually, Logan is seen sleeping on the large living room couch. His laptop is open in front of him, surrounded by lots of Pringles cans. The calendar next to one of the cans shows it's mid-July 2021, most likely the end of the school year and the beginning of summer vacation. As Logan is fast asleep, the alarm on his phone sets off, 7 a.m. Tracy walks in with a tiresome and frustrated look on her face as Logan stirs awake slowly.
Tracy: Jeez. Logan? Do you mind? You need to turn off your alarm on time
Logan: What do you mean? It just rang now.
Tracy: Logan, it's been going off since 4 a.m. [laugh track]. (Logan finally sits up on the couch) Logan, what's going on? You've not been yourself for 3 months.
Logan: Tracy, you're overreacting. (He reaches for something under the couch and brings out a mini Pringles can. He opens it and starts to put some in his mouth) [brief laugh track]
Tracy: Usually, you're less weirder than this. But Jesse visits like every weekend. And if you look at the bright side, it'll be his turn to tolerate every nonsense you throw at me [laugh track]
Logan: (stands up) Look, sweetie. I'm tired of you pestering me about Jesse. Besides, admit it. It's been nice not having pre-teens around to take care of.
Tracy: (hesitates) About that, Liam -
Logan: (raises his eyebrows in worry) Did you just say Liam?
Tracy: (scoffs) Chill, Liam. You have nothing to fear. (Just then, Rudra walks out of the kitchen and approaches Tracy. He's wearing blue and green striped pyjamas and holding a green nylon bag. Logan glares at the two)
Rudra: (with a slight accent) Morning, Mr Logan.
Logan: (annoyed) Tracy, what have you done? Asking Rudra to come over is a terrible idea.
Rudra: (shows a can of Pringles to Logan) I got you some Pringles -
Logan: (snatches the can, opens it, and starts to munch on them) You're officially my favourite [brief laugh track]
Jesse: (standing at the door entrance) I heard that! [another laugh track]. (He drags in a large suitcase with him and drops by the couch. He himself sits back on the couch tiredly. Logan ) I'm exhausted!
Tracy: Why do you think we kept saying, "Good luck, Jesse," every time? You have a baby sister, who I feel bad for every single day.
Jesse: (annoyed) What are you talking about? You haven't been around children in a long time!!
Logan: (yells from the room to Jesse) Speak for yourself! (He walks out, carrying Amber bridal style. Amber is wearing a hood, sunglasses, and pyjamas) [brief laugh track]
Amber: (smiles cheekily) Sup, Jesse?! [another laugh track]
Jesse: (clearly surprised and irritated) You've been sleeping over here every night?! You made me sing Gabrielle to sleep every night for a week.
Rudra: Amber, I can't believe you ditched Jesse like that.
Amber: It was just for a week. Nothing happened.
Logan: Look, how about we go out for a short drive? We're five, myself, Tracy, Rudra, Jesse, and Amber.
Jesse: (freezes and stares into space. The speedy green wave of light is shown right before it opens like a tunnel to show Kelsea holding a can of chocolate ice cream; she has a vicious smile on her face)
[Kelsea: I want more chocolate! (with a creepily horrifying tone) MORE CHOCOLATE!!]
(The vision quickly closes with the speeding wave of light, followed by his iris and finally his full face. Although he has regained consciousness, no one realises he just had a vision)
Tracy: I think that's a great idea. I'll drive.
Logan: Why can't I drive? (Everyone stares at him in disbelief, expecting him to know the obvious reason) [brief laugh track]

[Flashback]
Jesse: (he is shown in the front passenger seat talking to Logan, who's driving with one hand while simultaneously proofreading and signing some books) Mr Liam, can you please hurry with the driving first? We could make serious mistakes if we're not careful.
Logan: (absentmindedly) Totally. (He lets go of the steering wheel completely, causing the car to swerve in a sitcomical manner) [heavy laugh track]
Jesse: (grabs the wheel hurriedly and tries to control) What in the?! I'm not even legal.
Logan: (somewhat irritated) Jesse, do you mind?! I'm trying to drive my life to a better place here!
Jesse: (slowly regaining control of the vehicle) I don't think your negligence will take you to either of the better places [laugh track]
Kelsea: (suddenly shows up at the backseat) Totally. (Jesse and Logan shriek in surprise. The former removes his hands from the steering wheel temporarily. The car swerves for a while before Logan grabs it again and pulls it back to the right lane, as all three try to stop panicking) [brief laugh track].
Kelsea: (gasping) Seriously, can we all just concentrate for once? This is getting ridiculous!
Jesse: (exhales) Totally. (A loud burst is heard at the back, implying there's a flat tyre. Logan and Kelsea turn to glare at a stunned Jesse as the car slowly comes to a halt) [laugh track]

[Flashback ends]
(Logan, Tracy, Jesse, Rudra, and Amber are standing in front of an ice cream truck. They each have cups of either vanilla or strawberry ice cream)
Logan: Wow, Madison, this ice cream is amazing. (A lady of Latinx descent, average height, with blonde hair and brown eyes, about Logan's age, emerges from the open window of the mobile truck. She's dressed in a white T-shirt and blue jeans while wearing an apron. She grins at the group)
Madison: Thanks, Logan. You're the only one who's genuine about everything. Unlike some people (looks at Rudra)
Rudra: I'm allergic to almond nuts. What did you expect? [laugh track]
Madison: Nerd, tech whiz, adorable but doesn't have a girlfriend. I'll make sure to always remember that [another laugh track]. So, how's the new movie going? You're like, slightly popular now.
Tracy: I know. It's a miracle [laugh track]
Logan: It's fine. You know, it's quite stressful sometimes. I need a break.
Madison: Me too. I just wish someone could watch the truck for me for a while. My sister won't be available.
Logan: She's busy with work?
Madison: No. Apparently, I'd be getting into her shopping spree time [laugh track].
Amber: (volunteers) We can watch the truck while you're gone. (Rudra proceeds to raise his left hand, but Amber cuts in) And if Rudra misbehaves, he'll be properly taken care of. (turns to face Rudra) Don't mess this up for us [another laugh track]
Jesse: (whispers to Rudra) She's serious. (The three realise the adults aren't there) Wow, Miss Madison really wants to quit her job [laugh track]. (Just then, Danny and Kelsea walk up to Jesse, Rudra, and Amber)
Danny: (gives Rudra and Jesse handshakes) 'Sup, gees! (looks around) Man, Madison just had to leave now that I finally worked on our song [laugh track]
Jesse: Madison is way older than you. And what does Kelsea think about this?
Amber: (with a horrified look on her face) Um, guys?! (The boys run into the food truck, and they see Kelsea surrounded by three buckets of ice cream. Her face and clothes are partly messed up by both vanilla and chocolate flavours)
Danny: I think she's not thinking about anything right now. (realises and frowns) Hey, causing trouble and not thinking straight is my thing [laugh track]
Kelsea: (gulping down ice cream) I want more chocolate! (with a creepily horrifying tone) MORE CHOCOLATE! [brief laugh track].
Jesse: (whispers to Amber) No, I was not expecting this to happen here. I must have missed something.
Amber: You saw what you saw. Let's fix this before more damage is done. (The siblings turn to face Kelsea, but she's not the one they have to worry about. Danny and Rudra are stuffing themselves random cakes - literally. Kelsea also joins in).
Danny: Jesse, I take back every safe thing I said earlier.
Rudra: (pauses briefly to defend himself) In our defence, no almonds were harmed in the production of these cakes. It's acting jargon; you should know that [laugh track]
Amber: It's going to be a weird summer, Jesse. We better get ready, big bro.
Jesse: You're right. Let's start cleaning up.
Amber: Way ahead of you. (brings out a scoop ladle out of nowhere) As they say, the best way to clean up is by digging deep. (Amber joins the others) [laugh track]
Jesse: (shrugs) This is just crazy. (Jesse freezes in a trance-like state. The camera closes in on his glowing right eye, followed by the green wave of light and then a vision. He sees Logan and Madison with stern facial expressions)
[Madison: You know, Logan, you raised your kid right. I'm disappointed in the others. (turns to Jesse) I know it might not be much, but you get free food for a fortnight.
Logan: And as for the rest, they're in a lot of trouble already as we speak...]
(The vision closes immediately, and the camera finally shows his eye and finally his full face. Jesse regains consciousness and smiles to himself)
Jesse: You know, Amber? You're right. I'll be busy for a while while you work. (He slowly leaves the others in the truck as they eat more snacks. As soon as he's out of earshot, he smirks and mutters) I'll be busy getting on Madison's good side. For 2 weeks [laugh track]. (He walks away, triumphant with a mischievous smile, as a random theme song plays, leading to the end of the scene).
