LV 5 (scene 5) - Hudson, Hudson, Hudson, and Danny

It's Clarkson High, downtown Denver. It's the beginning of the school year, and the teens are in the 10th grade now. We focus on the classroom where everyone is packing up their books and backpacks. Just then, Danny approaches Jesse, who's about to leave.
Danny: Dude? Jesse? Bro? We need to talk about something important.
Jesse: Danny, Sunny can't sleep over. She almost took little Gabrielle on a skydiving trip [laugh track]
Danny: Hudson and Kelsea are dating.
Jesse: (obviously shocked) They what? (He bumps into a blond classmate with his books. Their books and papers all fly around the room before falling to the floor. But Jesse is too irritated and shocked to realise he did the run-in) [laugh track]. Yariel? What's so important that you couldn't watch where you're going?
Yariel: (ruffling his hair, which has light brown roots) Do you want me to answer that?
Danny: (repeats) Hudson and Kelsea are dating.
Yariel: (to Jesse) I'm so sorry I bumped into you [another laugh track]
Jesse: How are Hudson and Kelsea dating? He's in senior year, and she's a sophomore. That ruins the balance of things.
Danny: That's what I told Rudra when I told him about it. Harleen also said the same thing when Rudra told her.
Yariel: I don't mean to intrude, but aren't you overreacting? To be fair, Kelsea wasn't exactly into you.
Jesse: Danny, he's talking about you [brief laugh track]
Yariel: I gotta go. We're almost late for math class. (Yariel leaves the two friends and walks out of the class. Jesse and Danny are about to do the same, but they're discussing)
Danny: A lot could happen if they continue. (He glances at something Jesse's holding) Dude, this wristwatch is super dope.
Jesse: Yeah, my dad got it for me when he was done shooting his movie at Vegas last week. (Danny holds his hand to observe the watch more. Just then, Jesse's left iris glows green, but as soon as the camera focuses on him, it swoops in on a mix-ish of green and purple coloured wave of light. It opens to show Hudson and Kelsea sharing a hug)
[Kelsea: You know I'm so relieved I'm dating you again. But Danny's pretty tough about it.
Hudson: I feel the same way, Kel. I just wish I wasn't so scared of Danny. Bro's crazy]
(The vision quickly closes, followed by the purple light waves. However, the camera pans out and shows Danny's hypnotised full face instead. He's apparently still in a trance cause Jesse is calling out his name)
Jesse: Danny? Dude? (Danny gradually regains consciousness) Danny, something weird just happened.
Danny: (confused) I know. Hudson is scared of me. And Kelsea thinks I'm overprotective. It all makes sense now.
Jesse: I wanted to say something weird happened to me, but I think yours is way more interesting [laugh track]
Danny: Jesse, I just imagined what would happen if I interfered. They'd realise how insecure they are with each other. And I have a plan. Come on. (Danny walks out of the class. Jesse continues to stare)
Jesse: Did Danny just say, "I have a plan," and walk out? This can't be good [brief laugh track]

During lunchtime, Danny, Rudra, and Jesse are sitting and observing Kelsea talking to Hudson, giggling and smiling about something he said.
Danny: (munching on his guacamole) Look at Kelsea. Moving on with her life, forgetting we exist, and hanging out with two timer, Hudson, like the school year started yesterday
Rudra: School literally resumed yesterday [brief laugh track].
Danny: (to Jesse) In my imagination, Kelsea says I'm tough towards her dating Hudson, who thinks I'm crazy and he's scared of me.
Jesse: He's not the only one [laugh track]
Rudra: I know it sounds crazy, but she didn't even sit with us yesterday, the first day of the school year.
Jesse: How can she ditch us like that? We're her best friends, and no one can replace her. (He turns to someone in front of him) Thanks for being her substitute.
Yariel: (in front of the three boys) Kelsea's replacement reporting for duty! [laugh track]
Harleen: (Behind Yariel) How's Yariel a better replacement for Kelsea? I mean, look at HIM! [laugh track]
Yariel: This is 2024. There's a thing called (ruffles his hair lightly) diversity [brief laugh track]
Rudra: I'm just as surprised as you are, sis.
Danny: (groans in annoyance) That's it! I'm going in!!
Harleen/Yariel/Rudra/Jesse: (holding Danny back) STOP!! (Everyone turns around to know the owners of the voices, but they quickly compose themselves in a comical way [laugh track])
Kelsea: (shaking her head) Those knuckleheads. The boys, not Harleen.
Hudson: (smirking at her) They are YOUR knuckleheads.
Kelsea: I know. (She smiles at him)
Danny: (rolls his eyes at the others) I don't care. I'm going to tell Hudson to back off.
Harleen: Cause you like Kelsea?
Danny: (hesitant) No, let's work with that [brief laugh track]. (Danny leaves the three and walks among a small crowd of students to avoid being seen. He hides behind a wall to observe them, somewhat within earshot)
Kelsea: You know I'm so relieved I'm dating you again. But Danny's pretty tough about it.
Hudson: I feel the same way, Kel. I just wish I wasn't so scared of Danny. Bro's crazy.
Kelsea: Awwn. You're so nice.
Hudson: Not to brag, but I'm always told I have the voice of an angel.
Kelsea: Yeah, but I mean, saying that Danny's just crazy is a polite way of saying he's a wildfire [laugh track]
Danny: (softly) Hey! I have feelings, young lady! [brief laugh track]
Jesse: (suddenly beside him) That was way too accurate!
Danny: (startled) Bro, where did you come from? And coming from someone spontaneous like me, I'm impressed [brief laugh track]
Jesse: I mean, the accuracy in what you said about their exact words.
Danny: What can I say? (smirks) I'm smarter than all of you. (He walks out on him again confidently) [laugh track]
Jesse: Did he just walk out with confidence - again? He just proved the accuracy in crazy [brief laugh track]
Kelsea: (to Hudson) Hudders, I gotta go now. Something tells me the universe is about to lose its balance if one of them loses his balance. (She hugs Hudson and walks to Jesse, who's still startled about Danny's confidence) Did Danny just do "the walk" in front of you?
Jesse: I want to say yes, but we might have different thoughts about "the walk" [laugh track]
Kelsea: Relax. Tell Danny that we're still cool. (looks at the table where their crew is sitting. However, her smile turns into an annoyed frown) I specifically asked Harleen to be my replacement. Why's there a he?
Jesse: (nervous) To be fair, you have a thing for blonds with brunet roots [laugh track]. Also, there's a reason we chose Yariel faster.
Yariel: (suddenly wearing glasses and writing something in his notepad) I understand your pain, Mr Daniel. And I can't relate to any of it.
Danny: (fake sobbing) You so get me, bro.
Rudra: (to Harleen) Am I the only one watching this horror show?
Harleen: Relax, you weren't in art class before the summer. This is 2% of the tip of the iceberg [laugh track]
Kelsea: (to Jesse) Y'all aren't knuckleheads after all. But I'm telling dad what you did. (She walks to their table)
Jesse: Again, Liam's NOT our dad! [laugh track]

Later that evening, Jesse is talking to Logan and Tracy in the kitchen.
Logan: (preparing dinner in the kitchen) Hold on, let me get this straight. You froze, and just as you were about to see the future, the whole light thing just opened back to Danny in front of you?
Jesse: Yeah.
Tracy: That means something must have short circuited your vision. So when it opened, you were actually regaining consciousness.
Jesse: Or someone. (realizes) Danny?! He was holding my hand looking at my watch, and when my vision stopped working, he was the frozen one! It's like he was thinking. (appalled) But he NEVER thinks! [brief laugh track] How's that even possible? Danny didn't even realize it was a vision, and he's terrified of the future [another laugh track]
Logan: I know we're not supposed to underestimate that boy, but I can't agree more [laugh track]
Tracy: It's like a new yet relatable superpower. When you teleport with someone, you have to make physical contact. (to Jesse) Remember 2 years ago?
Jesse: Yeah. How did we not fix it in time?
Tracy/Jesse: Yet it was a perfect disaster. (Gasps) We both sound like Danny! SWEET!!
Logan: Am I the only one witnessing this? (quickly) Nope, no, no one should answer that [brief laugh track]
Tracy: (smirking) I couldn't be more prouder of you right now. I have to tell Zoey, Trevor, and Nigel.
Jesse: And I'm telling my parents.
Tracy: What about your friends?
Jesse: You're right! I WON'T tell those people. Not right now. I love them, but they're a little extra.
Logan: Is no one listening to themselves right now? Also, what happened 2 years ago? [laugh track]
Tracy: Get in the car. We're going vision hunting. (Jesse looks at her confused) I'll explain later.
Jesse: Better later than never. Bye, Liam! (The two rush out of the kitchen) [brief laugh track]
Logan: (startled for some seconds before exhaling) I should have agreed to night sitting when I had the chance [final laugh track].
