Knock knock knock.
Remus was Lupin felt as if a truck had hit him, dragged him through the mud then through him down a hill.
Last nights full moon had been particularly rough. The first back at Hogwarts usually was.
He was lazing in bed the following afternoon. He wasn't used to people interrupting him, part of him hoped if he just ignored the knocking whoever it was would go away.
Though the knocking only seemed to get louder, until it was paired with a voice calling his name.
"Lupin I know you're in there! We need to talk!"
It was a familiar voice, but not the voice he expected.
He looked like shit and he knew it. In a pair of Pajama pants and a white T-shirt, wild hair all over the place, a bruised eye and a sullen face.
Though the urgency in her voice had him on his feet and answering the door.
"Elowen? Is everything okay?"
Even though Aveline had been up all night with her astronomy students watching the moon, her eyes were wide and wired awake.
She couldn't stop thinking about the Unforgivable curses, and Alastor Moody performing them in a class of fourteen year olds.
Much to Remus's surprise, she didn't wait for him to invite her in, she just barged past him in an angered huff.
Seriously, who did this girl think she was?
"Elowen what-"
"Alastor Moody," Aveline stated, her arms crossed as she looked at Remus. "Do you know he's performing the unforgivables infront of your fourth year students?"
The man's eyes widened, "what? No that doesn't seem right. The students learn the theory of the Unforgivable's in Seventh year, but the cursed are never performed infront of students."
"Well I covered his fourth year class yesterday, and they informed he was performing them on spiders. You didn't know this?"
Remus was confused. He was tired. His head hurt, and he was not expecting Elowen Grey to be standing in the middle of his bedroom staring at him like a hawk.
Sheepishly, he hated the thoughts that crossed his mind seeing her stand so close to his bed. He couldn't help it — he was a man and couldn't ignore the fact Elowen Grey was an attractive woman. Besides, the full moon did mysterious things to a man.
"Focus Lupin," Aveline demanded, seeing his mind wander off. "Were you aware?"
The way he was staring at him with those wide icy blue eyes made him feel as if he was under a spotlight.
"No," he answered shaking his head. "Of course I wasn't aware. But wait, you covered Alastors class?"
Aveline knew he didn't intend too, but the way he worded the question offended her.
"Yes," she answered shortly. "We did some duelling."
"You duel?" Remus asked, eyebrows raised clearly impressed.
She rolled her eyes. "Of course I duel Lupin. What kind of question is that?"
Remus studied her for a moment, shaking his tired head.
"Merlin," he spoke, "you remind me a lot of someone I once knew."
His comment felt like a stab in Aveline's heart. Though she couldn't afford to feel the stab, so she pretended she didn't hear him and told him he needed to have a conversation with Alastor.
