Pure fury was bubbling in Remus Lupin's chest as he walked the now dark and empty halls of Hogwarts.
He had just spent the better part of the last hour, consoling a terrified Harry in his office. Then, writing a long and wordy letter to James and Lily, in which he was so angry he snapped 3 quills in half just trying to write.
This was unbelievable. Perhaps the worst case scenario Remus could've ever imagined.
Then there was the matter of her— the odd and strange woman who had seem to taken Remus heart over the past two months.
He had felt something was off about her— that she was hiding something.
And now, Remus knew — Elowen Grey was working for the dark side. She had to have been the one who put Harry's name in the goblet.
It just made perfect sense. She was too clever. Too young. Too mysteriously perfect.
He highly doubted Elowen was even her real name. Perhaps she was a death eater, disguised behind poly juice potion or intricate charm work.
The thought made his blood boil. He had grown so found of this woman over the past couple months. She had somehow manage to worm his way into his otherwise closed and cold heart.
He had slept with her for Merlin's sake! Meanwhile she was planning the glorious death of his Godson this entire time?
This is exactly why Remus didn't seriously date.
Steam was practically billowing out of his ears, as he raced up the steps towards Dumbledore's office.
He was going to expose her.
He threw open the door— expecting to see the target of his very anger, along with his fellow Professors.
He had rehearsed what he was going to say on the walk here, yet as his eyes scanned the room, Remus Lupin felt his heart stop.
Frozen. Remus Lupin was frozen. He couldn't move and her certainly couldn't talk.
He was briefly aware he was still half holding open the door, and that his lips were now parted in a shocked expression. He wasn't sure his heart was even beating or his brain was even thinking right.
Was he going mad?
Was his brain even thinking right?
Maybe someone had slipped some hallucinatory drugs into his evening pumkin juice at dinner.
Yes— because that was a more logical explanation than his dead ex-fiancé standing in Dumbledore's office, very much alive.
This was too good to be true. Much too good to be true.
Remus had spent every moment of his waking and dreaming life, willing this exact thing to happen.
He pinched himself. Trying to wake himself up— because this had to be a dream. When that didn't work, he wacked himself in the nose with his palm, letting out a groan.
He probably was bleeding now, but he didn't care, his brain still trying to process who was standing infront of him.
She looked exactly as she did 13 years ago when she died.
The same youthful glowly skin covered in freckles that remus could probably draw and count from memory. The same unruly curly blonde hair that framed a diamond shaped face with darling rosy cheeks.
