It was hours later that Aveline found herself standing outside Remus's personal chambers.
Deep breathes.
This would be scary but she had to do it. He deserved to know, and who the fuck cared if Dumbledore found out?
This was her life. She couldn't do it anymore.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
The second he opened the door and say her face his face just lit up.
Aveline thought it would be awkward— isn't hooking up with a coworker always awkward?
Though she reminded herself they weren't coworkers— they were soulmates. Lovers. Ex-fiancés.
Even though Remus saw Elowen Grey when he looked at her, she knew he felt Aveline. This wasn't awkward, this was meant to be.
"Hi Elowen," he greeted, stepping aside to let her in. "I wasn't expecting you."
She walked in his room, taking in the mint scent with a hint of vanilla. It looked as if he actually had been grading papers this time, a dim light revealing his desk covered in a pot of fresh ink and scrolls of parchment.
"For what do I owe the pleasure?" he asked her, crossing his arms and leaning against his desk.
Deep breathes. She could do this.
"There's just something I want to talk to you about," she began in a nervous tone.
"If this is about last night," Remus began, suddenly looking solemn, "I completely understand if you think it was a mistake and I will respect your decision completely if that's not something you want to do again."
Aveline paused, her lips twitching.
"No," she answered shaking her head. "No no no. I don't think last night was a mistake. Do you?"
She held her breathe— waiting for the answer. Certainly he would say that yes it was a mistake, and that he had interest in her and she needed to leave his room right now.
"No," he answered softly. "I don't think it was a mistake at all. Though like I said, I understand if that's not something you want to engage in again. I get it I'm older than you and a coworker. It is completely fair that though it was fun, you don't want to do it again—"
"No no no," she rushed, cutting him off quickly. "That's not what I'm here to say at all. If anything I'd like what happened last night to happen more."
He locked his eyes on her raising an eyebrow.
It was as if the energy shifted in the room.
Aveline cursed herself in her head, because was she really moving towards him?
"Is that right?" Remus muttered, as he watched her move closer and closer to him.
Stop Aveline stop it right now, she was telling herself in her head.
But it was like she physically couldn't, and before she knew it her arms were wrapped around the back of his neck. He pulled her close, tugging her in by the waist still leaning on the desk behind him.
Remus was also fairly certain he shouldn't be doing this. He was older than her— he should be the one to put his foot down.
"What did you like about last night?" he whispered, squeezing her hips as his hands gently massaged the side of her body.
A blush quickly flushed across her cheek. A blush that he liked.
