A/N: wow... separation anxiety much? Dw, it'll get even worse next chapter. 'But we were seeing so much progress! He was doing so well!" Yeah, because he still had some level of normalcy and stability. There was structure and familiarity, and of course, his hero. Now his safest person is leaving, the consistency of school and class and even classmates is gone, and he's going to go live with these two guys who, until recently, were nothing more than his teachers.
Have fun reading!
Aizawa POV
"Damn you! How many years now and you're still this irresponsible? You're going to give your husband a heart attack, walking around with injuries like this all the time." The old lady was yelling at me once again, and the headache that had finally just started to go away felt like it was coming back. I dragged myself to the nurses office as soon as I dismissed my students, as planned, but I guess that wasn't enough for the (unnecessarily) grouchy healing hero. What did she want me to do? I was always in the wrong with her.
"It's not like I could've gotten it fixed this morning. I'm about five seconds from dropping unconscious from exhaustion after last nights emergency and I had a responsibility to be present for my students. I'd have been out for at least half a day. Now heal me so I can sleep for 16 hours straight. More, if I'm lucky. It'd be nice if I could be in a coma for a few days." I tell her humorlessly.
She kisses her teeth in annoyance. "When you have an injury like a broken rib you need to go to me or the hospital immediately! You shouldn't have come into work. The kids could have had a substitute, even if only for the first half of the day while you rested. I swear! I was just telling Midoriya about this. You all don't take care of your bodies, and you're going to end up a bad role model for your students." She chastises. I have to bite back an argument. I was literally just teaching them about taking better care of their bodies less than an hour ago. "You even have a kid now, and he's already picking up on your bad habits!"
That has me raising my eyebrows.
"What did Izuku do?"
"Not using his medicine." She huffs, gesturing for me to lay down on the cot next to us.
"You gave him medicine? For what?" Is he in pain? Does he have another injury I wasn't aware of? I'm trying very hard not to get angry at the thought that he's still injured and this temperamental old lady didn't bother to tell me.
"Scar cream. Lay down!" She pokes my leg impatiently with her cane when all I do is sit on the edge of the cot.
"Oh." I feel a little better knowing that there wasn't anything wrong that I wasn't already aware of.
"I was going to tell you to remind him to use it but he didn't want me to. Seemed embarrassed. He should run out in about a month if he's using it properly so when he does let me know and I'll tell you where you can buy more."
I nod.
"Oh, has he given you that packet I handed him?"
"What packet?" I ask gruffly. At this point I've gotten my reassurance that Izuku is okay and it's the end of the day. I just want to sleep, and I'm done with this conversation.
"Ah, maybe he'll give it to you later. I've given detailed instructions on how to treat any physical issue that might come up over the break."
I give another nod, struggling to stay awake now that I'm on a bed.
"Alright I'll call your husband in a minute to let him know that you're gonna be passed out, probably until tomorrow. Knowing you, you probably didn't tell him you were here."
