A/N: how's everybody doing?
Trigger warning: does being too stressed to fall asleep warrant a tw? The stress is trauma-related so I opted for yes. The sections are labeled with a warning (⚠️) as usual, so take care.

Izuku POV
It's nearly 11pm. I ended up setting up my blackboard even though I said I'd do it tomorrow, and put up this week's schedule. Tomorrow is Monday, but training doesn't officially start until next Monday, not this one, so it's pretty empty other than for two things, one of them being 'hand appointment' on Thursday. I'm still not exactly sure what it entails, but Shota did say we were going to meet someone about it on Thursday.
Hizashi has patrol most of the day tomorrow so I've been informed that I'm going furniture shopping with Shota, and that Midnight will be accompanying us. Hence why 'shopping' is on the schedule for Monday.
Hizashi told me Midnight was joining us because I needed to have somebody with a sense of interior design there, but I think it's really because they want to have an extra Pro babysitting me while I'm out. I can't blame the two of them for that. I suggested ordering everything off of the online catalogues he showed me anyways, but the blonde insisted that it was better to go in-person.
"We were in a rush to get your dorm back at school fixed up, but we can take our time to make sure this room has everything you want in it. It's your home, and it's not temporary. It'll be here even after you graduate, for as long as you want, so it should be a place filled with the things you like." He told me, and then went on to talk about how I didn't need to feel pressured to get everything tomorrow, and that we could "go back for more" whenever I wanted. I think he kind of wishes he could go with us.
That conversation was about an hour ago and he's gone to bed now. I told him at the time that I was going to sleep soon too, but that's clearly gone out the window. I think Shota is still up, I heard him talking quietly on the phone a few minutes ago and he had a laptop out on the coffee table the last time I checked before closing my door.
My sleeping clothes consist of athletic shorts and an old hoodie. I was going to wear my All-Might pajama pants that now had a faint bloodstain on one of the knees, but it didn't feel right. I had packed them pretty thoughtlessly, but now looking at the smiling faces made me feel an emotion I couldn't quite name, and I couldn't imagine Shota or Hizashi being happy to see that face right now. I think they were both pretty upset with their old friend-slash-coworker.
(⚠️trigger warning start⚠️)
It's cool in the room, despite the creeping heat of summer, and I'm in the bed with the blanket pulled over my legs. The light is still on though, and I'm sitting up with my phone in my hands, staring at my chalk wall. I'm tired, hence why I told Hizashi I was going to bed about an hour ago, but I had a sneaking suspicion I would have trouble actually falling asleep. Maybe I was also oddly a little uncomfortable with the idea of turning the light off.
The room was silent, unlike my old room in my old apartment. There were no suspicious house noises, like that of water running through pipes or creaky doors or upstairs neighbors pacing late at night. I couldn't even hear traffic on the streets below. My room at school was similarly quiet unless a classmate was in the hall, but it hadn't bothered me before.
Maybe I was only bothered now because I hadn't heard true silence since I was in that basement. Hours on end in nearly pitch black, the only sound being my own breathing and occasionally my heartbeat in my ears, when I was faring particularly poorly. It never got to the point where I wished for the company of my captors, but sometimes I think I got close. Even the warehouse I had been brought to had noise. Wind whistling through broken windows, a plane flying high overhead, the occasional bird in the area looking for food scraps or nest material in long-discarded garbage.
