A/N: who here has had the lovely experience of getting <6 hrs of sleep over the course of three days? I would hope there aren't too many of you but if I did I would probably be disappointed.

Trigger warning: you can probably guess it but this chapter contains what I would consider... intermediate sleep deprivation? Once again I'm not a doctor and it's a bit dramatized but I'd assume aspects of sleep deprivation like paranoia would be amplified for someone who, well, already sort of has paranoia and other lingering trauma. The portion of the chapter which covers this will be noted at the beginning and end with a warning (⚠️), and there will be discussion about it prior to the warning.
Have fun reading!

Shinso POV

Izuku hadn't reached out, and it had been two and a half days. Thinking about the way I had left him had me nearly sick with worry, but he hadn't called or texted or anything, like he was completely fine. Or something was very, very wrong.

Aizawa and Mic hadn't bothered to reach out to me either, so I was forced to assume everything was going smoothly. They didn't need me. Izuku was fine without me. I'm not necessary anymore. I would have to be grateful to be able to see him when we started our joint training next week.

On another note, I'd told my father that my Insomnia had been better the night I returned, but I have yet to mention that it's been terrible ever since I got back. I think I got used to the dorms, or maybe sleeping next to another person, and it was throwing me off now. I should've known that I'd be the one who ended up having problems without Izuku, instead of the other way around.

When I woke up Wednesday morning after another night of little rest, it was to the sound of my phone ringing. I groaned, taking my time feeling around blindly for my phone, but panicked the second I saw the caller ID.

"Aizawa? Is everything alright?" Oh god, it's not even six am, why would he be up this early? Is he just getting off of patrol? But I thought he had off for a few more days-

"Good morning Shinso," I heard sobbing in the background, accompanied by some words that I couldn't make out, "how quickly can you get ready and pack an overnight bag?"

     "What happened, is Izuku okay?"

"He'll be okay. He hasn't slept properly since he's arrived so he's having a tough time right now, he's not very responsive. I'm about to be on my way to pick you up right now, I'll be there in 30 minutes. Can you be ready by then?" The sound of Izuku crying gets quieter, and I hear keys jingling. It sounds like he's grabbing things, already getting ready to leave.

"Y-yeah, yes, I'll be ready!" He hung up as I was finishing my sentence, and I was upset that I had to hold back on questions, thinking about the crying I could hear through the phone.

Just as he'd said, the man pulled up outside of my home thirty minutes later while I was writing a note for my parents. My father would be up any minute now for work but I didn't have time to stay for a chat, let alone an explanation of the whole situation which I wasn't entirely sure about myself. I rushed out the door with a half-filled duffel and hopped into the car and we were on our way to where my teachers lived.

Aizawa explained the situation to me on the way there.

"How are you feeling, kid? Sorry to wake you up so early," he starts.

"I'm fine, how is Izuku? What happened?"

We slow to a stop at a red light and he takes the moment to look over pointedly.

"Your eye bags are worse, you look like a mess even though you had half an hour to get ready when I know you only need fifteen minutes, and you hate early mornings."
