A/N: the kid is really going through it, and it's just a regular Tuesday. I suppose today is just not his day.

Midoriya POV

Despite the fact that I ended today on a decidedly higher note than the previous day, sleep refused to come easily. The level of exhaustion weighing on my body had intensified over the day but regardless, my total rest time must've been under 2 hours, broken up over the night.

I emerged from the room feeling shaky early in the morning, and tip-toed quietly across the hall to splash some water on my face and straighten myself out. Somebody was in the shower, and the quiet humming that drifted through the wall told me it was Hizashi.

I headed into the kitchen from there, tentatively searching through the cabinets for a cup so I could get myself a glass of water. I felt horribly sluggish, but my slow body didn't have any trouble catching up with my brain, which was moving equally slowly at the moment. Yesterday's headache returned as a dull ache and my breaths felt about as steady as my hands... that is, not steady at all.

Luckily, I'd been feeling this way for the past few hours and already had time to go over the revelation that this felt a lot like my sleep deprived nights from the time in the basement. What I'm saying is I had time to talk myself down from a breakdown and sort out my feelings already. Of course, all that after I managed to dodge every flashback that tried to come at me in a half-conscious state.

The wet room door opened with a click and I startled hard enough for the cup to slip out of my hands, bouncing loudly across the floor and spilling water everywhere. Thank goodness the cup was plastic.

I dropped to the floor to grab the cup, expecting Hizashi to come around the corner to see what happened, but all I heard was the quiet click of the door at the end of the hall opening and subsequently closing again.

I chose to ignore it, eyeing the puddle and the roll of paper towels on the counter.

The mess didn't take long to clean up but I couldn't find their trash bin, and searching the kitchen with a handful of sopping paper towels that dripped all over the place meant once I finally did find the bin under the sink I had to go back with another dry paper towel to clean up all the drops that got everywhere.

I might've spent an extra few seconds staring at the soaking paper in the trash than necessary, before blinking harshly and shaking my head. It didn't help clear my thoughts. I closed the cupboard and grabbed my cup out of the sink, intending to fill it back up, but paused. It's been on the ground. Should I get a new one? Or, no, should I wash-

"Izuku?" I whipped around violently, heart about to explode out of my chest.

"H-Hizashi, good morning," I swallowed, running a hand through my hair to calm myself down. Where did the cup go? "I didn't hear you come in." My eyes land on the cup on the floor, in roughly the same spot it fell before.

I go to pick it up but the blonde stops me with a raised hand, and picks it up himself. "It's okay, good morning. You're up early this time." He gracefully sets the cup in the sink and takes another out of the cupboard, filling it with water and handing it to me without another word.

"I didn't sleep well," I find myself admitting to him, and he gestures for me to sit on one of the stools at the peninsula while he moves around the kitchen.

He hums in understanding. "It will take some time to settle. If there's anything Sho and I can do let us know. Tea, Coffee?" He asks as he fills the kettle and starts it, turning to turn the coffee machine on too and glancing back.
