A/N: Hey guys it has been an absolutely insane past few weeks for me with the amount of things going on (and things going wrong), even more so than anticipated, so like I said two chapters ago my update schedule suffered a little. Good news, I think I can be back on schedule now. I hope you all managed to have a good holiday! As always...
Have fun reading!
Midoriya POV
The end of our training has both Hitoshi and I thoroughly tired out, and I'm grateful for the shower before we head back because even with the aircon it was way too hot to be moving that much with a jacket on. I've gotta find a solution to this that doesn't involve me melting to death.
I try to take said jacket with me when we leave so I can wash it before I return it to Hitoshi, but he just tells me to leave it with our other gym clothes at the dorms to wash in a few days. That's really not something I can argue with because it makes a lot more sense than taking it all the way home to wash. Still, I wanted to do something nice and it was ruined by impracticality.
When we leave the dorms for the second time that day I prepare myself to get back on public transport, this time late in the evening. Instead we're greeted by a familiar car at the campus gates. Hizashi greets us all warmly when we hop in his and Shota's fancy car, asking us how training went and making light conversation.
Unfortunately for him, as soon as I settle into the backseat with Hitoshi the tension is bleeding out of my body and I'm realizing just how tiring the afternoon was. The light blowing from the air conditioner only seems to make my eyelids heavier.
Hitoshi may have worked harder today but I've certainly been hit harder after the fact. I think the first week is going to be difficult for me, getting back into things. It'll be like when I first started training with All-Might.
I zone out fully after that, half asleep and melting into no-doubt highly expensive seats until we arrive at the garage where we change cars.
After some prompting I stumble out, practically hobbling, with most of my weight leaning on my walking stick. I nearly hadn't taken it with me at all today but I suppose second guessing myself came in handy, because my legs will probably feel like jello for the rest of the night. Hitoshi hovers nearby like he's waiting for me to tip over. It wouldn't be much of a surprise if I did.
I'm a little more coherent on the second half of our trip back home, if only because my stomach has made it known that it wants food.
Thankfully Shota gets to work on a quick dinner as soon as we get back, and while Hitoshi relaxes on his phone in my room I go out to Hizashi, who is sat at the peninsula talking with his husband.
When he notices me approaching, he cuts off in the middle of his conversation.
"Heya green bean. What's up?"
"Oh no, you can- uh, finish your conversation."
"It's fine. Nothing important, anyways. Whaddaya need?" He turns his full body to face me.
Well, no more stalling I guess. "...can I, uhm, can I have the recipe you used for the muffins? The ones you made this morning, I mean."
"Of course," his face melts into a happy expression, "I take it they were good?"
I nod my head.
"I found it online so I can just send the link over to you later. How does that sound?"
"Please, thank you." I bow my head, trying not to fidget, then with a quick glance at how far along dinner is I turn on my heel and head back to my room.
