You were about 7 and it had been a while since Taylor started recovering. Although she had been dragged to the doctor, forced into meal plans and recovery itself, she had finally acknowledged that the voice in her head wasn't the only option to live by. She was trying to fight and had gotten herself to a better place -with lots of support- yet some things were still difficult like stepping out of her comfort zone and that's when Tree decided it was time to challenge her. Your sister's publicist decided it was time to introduce different foods into her diet, because although she had expanded the foods she ate—she would willingly only choose certain foods, determined to keep some control. After one of her dietician appointments, she hopped inside of the car and started crying.
- "Nothing I do is enough for her!" Taylor cried.
- "Tay, they just want you to try different foods" Tree said stroking her arm.
- "I DO NOT want to do that. I'm okay the way things are right now" Taylor said.
- "Are you? Because I saw how you looked at those mini cheese sticks, I brought to yesterday's meeting with the team—it seemed that you wanted to eat them, but you stuck to the snack you brought"
- "Those weren't part of the meal plan." Taylor rolled her eyes.
- "It's okay to eat outside of the meal plan sometimes too" Tree said.
- "Isn't my meal plan what I should follow to be healthy? That's what you all tell me!"
- "A healthy person listens to her cravings too" Tree smiled softly.
Taylor just looked down and Tree squeezed her hands - "Let's do it. You know it is the right thing. I have some of those cheese sticks left, let's have them as afternoon snack"
Taylor's head whipped round - "Today?"
Tree nodded - "She said to not plan that much ahead, to be spontaneous"
- "Okay" Taylor whispered but she wasn't sure at all.
When they arrived to Tree's house, Taylor wasn't so sure anymore. They walked into the kitchen and Tree heated the cheese sticks while getting ready some tomato and basil sauce to dip the cheese sticks in. When they were ready, Tree passed Taylor a plate with four mini cheese sticks. Then she turned around to pour some orange juice for both of them. Without even having planned it, Taylor took two of them, wrapped them in a napkin and hid them inside her pocket, then she took a third one and split it in two with her fingers, dipped one in the sauce and then put it on the plate again, she finally touched her lips and side of her mouth with her fingers to leave some crumbs on it. When Tree turned around to hand Taylor her juice, the blonde was pretending she was chewing and faked swallowing. Tree looked at her amazed, but happy. She didn't want to make a big deal about it unless Taylor said something first, so she just sat in front of the blonde, handed her the juice and Taylor took a small sip.
- "This is great, thank you Tree"
The redhead smiled and bit into a cheese stick herself. Taylor kept on drinking and then Tree's phone started ringing.
- "I have to take this. Sorry" Tree said and stood up to walk to the living room and get her phone that was in her bag. Taylor repeated what she had just done and when Tree came back, she faked chewing and swallowing again.
- "It was the bank. I filled a complaint report, and they were updating" the redhead said sitting down again. She saw all cheese sticks gone on Taylor's plate, she knew that Taylor had been trying lately in recovery, but something felt off. - "Did you like the cheese sticks?"
Taylor nodded and put her cup down - "I did! Thank you!"
Tree narrowed her eyes - "And how are you feeling?"
