(I'm back!!! Thank you ctm4evah   for the title suggestion and the idea)

You were going daily to the day program, trying your hardest to follow the rules, open up in therapy, not compensate, eat everything; but you were so exhausted. Recovery was exhausting. On Friday, after a particularly hard afternoon snack you felt super full and anxiety was increasing as you were waiting for the supervision period to be over. Once it was, Dr. Maine came to get you.

- "Elizabeth, can we speak? Come with me" she said politely.

You stood up immediately wanting to move your body as soon as you could, you walked to her.

- "So, you know you have an appointment with me..." the doctor said.

You nodded.

- "We're having it, but I wanted to discuss some things with your mom too, so I called her. She's in my office"

Your eyes widened - "You already talked?"

- "No, she just got here" the doctor said and opened the door to her office.

Andrea stood up to hug you and you hugged her back. Once you were settled, Dr. Maine started speaking:

- "I know it's not the end of the month yet and we will still have that appointment next week, on Friday. We wanted to try something next week and discuss it with you" the doctor said and you tensed up, Andrea rubbed your hand softly, then the doctor continued talking:

- "We want to give you the opportunity to have morning snack outside of the treatment center. We feel you've been following your meal plan and working so hard. Normally we start by letting patients have breakfast, or dinner at home, but in your case, we know that main meals are harder, so we want to start by letting you have morning snacks outside next week, see how it goes"

- "So, it's a test?" You said raising your eyebrow.

- "Essentially, yes. We want to see how it goes for a week before making any changes to the meal plan and to the treatment plan. How do you feel about it?" the doctor said.

- "Good. A step is a step" you said confidently with a soft smile.

Andrea squeezed your hand proudly.

- "Does it work for you? I know it can be trickier to drop her, then pick her up and then drop her again" Doctor Maine asked your mom.

- "Yeah. I think we could make it work. Except for Wednesday, Taylor has a couple of appointments for her Lasik surgery that's taking place in two weeks, and she asked me to go with her"

- "We can have her on Wednesday, no problem" the doctor said.

- "Or maybe we could ask Tree, see if she can help us out" Andrea suggested, then she turned to you: - "I think it's important that we use this opportunity as much as we can"

- "Great. Whatever works for you. Just let us know the day before" the doctor said and carried on discussing other things. Then you were dismissed to go to group therapy and your mom left home to then come back and pick you up after dinner.

When you arrived, Taylor already knew the good news.

- "Congratulations baby, you're doing so well!" She said as she hugged you.

- "Thanks Tay. I am really trying" you replied.

- "I know" she said giving you a forehead kiss.

- "Want to keep watching the movie we were watching yesterday?" She asked.
