Spencer and Melissa finally moved into their new apartment. They had to give away some things to make room, but they didn't care. Most of the stuff they gave away were things their parents had given them. That stuff meant nothing to them anymore.

"I'm exhausted. I think I'm going to go to bed." Melissa told her sister. Spencer nodded and began to put her blanket and pillows on the couch, arranging them so they would be comfortable enough to sleep on. Melissa watched as her sister made her couch-bed, and she couldn't help but feel bad. All they had were each other. Spencer had already given up so much. She had to drop out of school, she gave up her social life, and now she didn't even have a proper bed to sleep on. "Or we could stay up until one of us falls asleep." Melissa added. Spencer smiled and nodded again. "I like that idea." She said.

It was around midnight. Spencer and Melissa were still wide awake, talking about nonsense. Spencer checked her phone and saw she had a text message from Toby. He had sent it an hour ago.

"How's everything?"

Feeling bad for not responding, Spencer started typing.

"Everything's fine."

Melissa noticed her sister typing away. "Who's that?" Melissa asked, seeing a smile appear on Spencer's face.

"Just a friend."

"Does this friend have a name?"

"Toby," Spencer answered, giggling. Why was Melissa being all nosy all of a sudden? "He's a friend from school."

"Is that all? Just a friend?"

"Maybe... Maybe not."

Melissa gasped. "Oooohhh!! Spencer's got a boyfriend!" She playfully teased.

"He is not my boyfriend."

"Oh, come on! I saw that smile on your face. You totally have the hots for him."

"So what if I do? He probably doesn't feel the same way." Spencer said, snapping back at her sister. Melissa widened her eyes, surprised at her sister's behavior. "Okay, jeez. I was just having fun." She said in her defense.

"I'm sorry. I do like him, I just don't want him to have to put up with all this. I have way too much baggage."

"Spencer, he texted you at 11 PM. I'm pretty sure he really cares about you."

----

Spencer and Toby texted all night. He wanted to call her and hear her voice, but that was too much. It was really late. Probably around two or three in the morning. He had school the next day and he needed sleep, but he would rather fall asleep in school and get sent to the principal's office than to fall asleep now, and stop texting Spencer.

Spencer was all Toby thought about. He did have a giant crush on her, and he would've kissed her, if it weren't for his dad walking in. He thought that she was so beautiful. Her beauty was intoxicating. She smelled like vanilla. Her body was perfect and sexy. She was the smartest, nicest, most caring person he'd ever known. Her laugh was contagious. Her smile could light up a room. He didn't understand why she was bullied so much. People are such idiots sometimes. Spencer deserved nothing but love and happiness.

They both fell asleep while texting each other. It was four in the morning. Toby only got two hours of sleep, but he didn't care. It was worth it.

She was worth it.
