I couldn't believe that Yvonne actually hit on Toby. She gave him her number.
I'm definitely not the jealous type, but seeing Yvonne today hitting on Toby gave me an uneasy feeling. At the pit of my stomach. I climbed back into bed and tried to ignore it.
Toby was awake when I laid back down.
"Where were you?"
"I went to get a drink of water."
"Why are you lying to me?"
The feeling of guilt came back to me. It was all too familiar.
"I'm sorry... I just had to see what that Yvonne girl wrote to you."
"Babe, trust me. I'm interested in you and only you."
I lean over and hug him. "I love you, don't forget that." He says.

While Toby was getting ready for work, I decided to call Aria. She should be home by now.
"Hey, Spence! What's up?"
"I was wondering if you're home yet," I say, "maybe we could get some lunch."
It was quiet on Aria's side. Until she finally spoke.
"Yeah, that sounds good. I actually have something to tell you."
"Oh, alright then. I'll see you at the grille."
I hung up and was greeted by Toby. He looked so handsome in his police uniform. I was still in my pajamas, and I didn't plan on changing until noon. Toby kisses me (several times) goodbye.
"I almost don't want to leave." Toby says, kissing down my neck.
"We can save that for later," I say, playfully pushing him off of me, "but you need to get to your job."
Toby kisses me one more time and leaves for work.

"Aria! I'm so glad you're back!" I say and hug my short friend.
"I have some news," Aria says. She is still for a moment, and then she shows me her left hand. A gigantic engagement ring sat on her finger.
"Holy shit!" I say. I realize we're in a public place, so saying "shit" probably wasn't the best idea.
"Ezra proposed while we were in Iceland!" She says.
"That's amazing! We're like, engaged at the same time now!"
"Wait, what? You're engaged?!"
I forgot to tell her. Damn, I need to start remembering things.
"Oh my god, I forgot to tell you! Toby and I are engaged," I explain.
Aria looks at my hand. "No ring?"
"No, but it doesn't matter," I say. I mean it. It really doesn't matter.
I'm desperate to change the subject.
"So.. How'd he ask?" I ask Aria as we find a table.
"Well, he brought me to one of my favorite restaurants there," she says, then telling me the name of the restaurant, which was way too hard to pronounce, "and he got me a bouquet of roses, and in the middle rose, the biggest one, was the ring." She said. I could tell she was really passionate.
"I really hope you don't take this the wrong way, but isn't Ezra like, ten years older than you?"
"Eight," Aria corrected me. I wasn't really in a place to judge, Toby is nearly two years older than me.
"Anyways, that sounds amazing."
"How did Toby ask?"
"Well, it's a bit more complicated than you might think," I explain. I go on to tell her about how I asked first, and then he asked, and then how we agreed to stay engaged until we knew we were ready to actually get married.
"That's insane," Aria said in awe, "but beautiful." She was obviously in a mushy-gushy mood.
"So, when's the big day?"
"We don't really know yet, but as soon as possible," Aria says, admiring her ring, "and I want you to be the maid of honor."
"Oh my god! Of course I'll be the maid of honor! Anything for you!" I say in excitement.
Believe it or not, this was actually my first wedding. And I was so glad to play such an important role.
"Thanks. You're the best." Aria says, and hugs me.
I was overjoyed that our friendship actually lasted. I cherished it so much.
