"I told you not to scare yourself," Toby's voice shocked me so much that I nearly fell out of my seat.
"Why aren't you asleep?" I ask, acting as if I had no idea what he was talking about.
"We have a six-month-old daughter, Spencer. She's never asleep. Why aren't you asleep?"
"What the hell is this?" I say, showing him the files.
"Spencer, I'm working on it. Don't scare yourself."
"Don't scare myself? Toby, I'm a suspect for a murder I didn't even commit. How could I not be scared?!"
"Spencer!" Toby's raised his voice, "I'm taking care of it."
"How?!"
"I'll tell them that you were here. We were both taking care of Valerie, and then we went back to sleep."
"You weren't with me-"
"They don't know that." He said. It wasn't a lie. I was taking care of Valerie at the time. But the idea of Toby being able to stretch the truth so easily made me feel uneasy.
I don't know why I'm so scared. I didn't kill one of my students.
Before I could say anything, we heard Valerie upstairs, crying. Our voices must've woken her up.

The trial was a week later. They found the real killer: a tall man with blonde hair named Robert Lacke.
I was so glad it was finally over. Kira could finally rest in peace.
But that was just the beginning of a series of extremely unfortunate events.
March passed, and everything was fine.
In April, I received an invitation to a wedding.
You are cordially invited to the wedding of
Hanna Elizabeth Marin and
Jordan William Wright
April 30th, 2016Hanna only knew this guy for seven months, and now they're getting married?
I tried to keep myself from thinking that. If she loves him that much, then let her get married.I showed Toby the invitation, and we decided to go. It's been a while since we've seen Hanna, anyways.
