Maya's POV
I tip-toe into Riley's room and slide next to her in bed. I can't let her know any of this happened. It was a mistake. Right? I can't go back to THAT night. I can't be that girl. that vulnerable girl full of hope. Hope is for suckers.
I smother my body in Riley's comforter. I'm suddenly cold. Shivering even. It's in this moment I realize how much I already miss Josh's warm, safe body. I shut my eyes and recount everything that happened last night before falling back asleep.
