A story mostly focused on Joshaya but will contain hints of Corpanga, Rucas, Smarckle, etc. It all starts in the days leading up to the 25th Corpanga wedding anniversary. It takes place some years in the future (Riley, Maya, Farkle, Smackle, and Zay...
"Maya, I'm home. Guess who has some Honey Crispy Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, and an Egg Roll?!" Riley's voice boomed as she just the door of the apartment.
Without thinking, I sprinted out of my bed and booked it for the kitchen. Thank god it was just Riley and no one else.
"Someone's feeling better I see?" she raised her eyebrows at me.
"Hush, a little chinese food can cure anything," I added a cough to be convincing.
"Right..." she looked at me like she didn't believe me.
And to be honest, I can't blame her because I was set of breaking character for someone who was supposed to be sick.
Riley took the cartons of food out of the bag as I grabbed a fork from the drawer.
"Here," she tossed me a pair of chopsticks and slid the cartons in my direction.
"No time for that," I tossed them aside and opened up the to-go cartons. I began to eat right out of it with a fork not even stopping to come up for air.
"So how did the design come out? Did you finish?" Riley sat down next to me at the kitchen counter.
"Yea," I mumbled through my food.
"Can I see it?" she clapped her hands together excitedly.
"Sure, let me go get it," I swallowed my food and wiped my hands on a napkin so that I wouldn't dirty my sketch.
The last thing I needed was sweet and sour sauce or grease stains covering up the details.
I came back into the kitchen with the sketch in my hand.
"Oh my god. This is beautiful Maya. Definitely intricate, but it's not challenge you can't handle. Plus, your red velvet cakes are amazing. Easily the best I've ever had. Except for the ones from that House of Cupcakes place in New Jersey. But they won Cupcake Wars and even then, it's a tossup between the two."
"Thanks Riles, I'm kind of dreading it. It's a lot of pressure. I want it to be perfect for them. They are kinda like my parents too, ya know," I shoved another piece of chicken in my mouth. "I want your mom to have the wedding day she always dreamed of."
"It's gonna be perfect. Not only because it's from you, but also because you're an amazing baker and artist."
"You ever think about what your wedding is gonna be like?" I asked Riley.
"Oh, I have a whole binder dedicated to it. I've been dreaming about it my whole life," she got up and left the room for a moment.
She came back into the room a moment later with a black binder in her hand. It had delicately drawn pink and yellow flowers bordering it, and in white script, she had the words 'Wedding Organizer' written on the front.
