Maya's POV

We walked up to the cashier placing the tubs of cookie dough on the counter.

"Is that all today?" the guy looked up from his phone and began to ring up the different cookie doughs.

"If it wasn't all..would you judge us?" Smackle asked sweetly and placed a Twix bar on the counter.

My eyes widened at this girl's obvious cravings.

"I mean. 3 tubs of cookie dough is a lot to be fair," he smirked. "And NOW you're gonna add a Twix bar. Save a little for the rest of us."

"You're not a very good salesman..." she leaned over the counter and flipped around his name tag. "Matt," she finished. "Besides, it's not all for the two of us. We have some friends upstairs."

"Right...friends," he said as if he didn't believe her.

Holy shit. I think he is trying to flirt with her...and she might have even been flirting back. I literally was like paralyzed watching these too go back and forth.

Smackle handed over the cash to pay for the stuff.

"Have a good one, come again soon," Matt spoke handing over the bags of our cookie dough and the Twix bar. "Actually, we like to keep some supplies stocked. So maybe wait a while to come back. Plus, the holidays are coming up and we need our cookie dough shipments to last us," he winked at Smackle.

She shook her head, "You are literally the worst salesman ever. You should start looking for another job."

"Then it's a good thing I don't plan to make a career out of this," he smiled.

I was still in awe, unable to speak. We left the market and headed for the elevator.

"What was that all about?" I asked, raising my eyebrows at her.

"What was what about?" she answered with a question.

"That whole thing," I waved my finger in the air and then landed on the direction of the market.

"What?! That wasn't anything."

"Ahh of course it wasn't," I said sarcastically.

"Maya you know I love Farkle. Sure, I'm not quite sure if he's cheating on me and yea I'm a little scared about whether or not I'm pregnant, and..."

"And you were so flirting with him Smackle," I finished for her.

"Fuck. I was a little bit wasn't I?" Smackle unconsciously placed a hand on her stomach.

My gaze drifted over to her hand and it made me thin even more that she was pregnant. I used to do it all the time and then I would catch myself.

"Maybe a little," I winced when I said it. "But I don't necessarily think that you had ill intentions with it. And I know you love Farkle. I think you just want to feel a little wanted too."

She looked over at me as we got on the elevator.

"When did you get so good at reading people? Especially when they can't even read themselves anymore," she was stilled clutching her stomach.

"Well, somebody once taught me how important it is to be observant. They helped bring me back to me. They helped me find myself," I got sad again thinking about Josh and the ski lodge and every time after that.

Every fucking thing came back to him. It was like a goddamn Carousel and I couldn't get off. It just keeps on spinning.

"Hmmm, that person sounds pretty wise," she tapped her foot on the ground. "Anyways, are you gonna bring someone to the wedding?"
