Maya's POV

Riley and I are on our way back to our apartment after the somewhat relaxing and somewhat torturous spa day.

"So, Riley how are things going with Lucas?" I ask genuinely curious. I've been so focused on this whole thing with Josh that I haven't even been paying attention to anything else.

"It's good, I think," she starts slow, unsure of what to say. "Actually Maya, I'm still really scared."

"Of Huckleberry?" I chuckle trying to lighten her suddenly serious mood.

"Well yea, Peaches, I mean I'm not confident and secure of myself like you are."

That broke my heart to hear her say that. But for the record, I was not as confident and secure as I appeared to be on the outside. I have been so wrapped up in my problems that I didn't even realize how much Riley needed me.

"Honey, you are beautiful and kind and smart. Lucas loves you. Remember the part of the  story your mom was telling early about how she and your dad decided to try and see other people for a while?" Before she could answer the question I continued, "They tried to date other people and it didn't work, they still loved each other. So your dad went to surprise her and win her back..." I swallowed hard before forcing the next words out of my mouth despite the sour taste I knew it would leave on my tongue. "He went all the way to Florida, to Disney World. Lucas might not have gone to Disney World to win you back, but Riles, he did everything to win you back right here in New York. Talk to him. He loves you. And I know that if you want your relationship to work, you gotta talk to each other. Talk about your feelings."

I'm such a fucking hypocrite.

She smiled at me appreciatively while throwing a goofy arm around me, "Thanks Peaches." She leaned her head sideways to lean on mine. "Hey, I know we were planning on having a movie night but would you mind if I invited Lucas over? Ya know, to talk."

"Fine, but I'm only sharing you this one time," I teased wagging a finger at her.

"By the way, I have this really awesome surprise I've been working on for your parents' wedding, Well, re-wedding I guess."

Riley's eyes instantly lit up at the thought of a surprise.

"Ooh, tell me, tell me, tell me!" she pleaded to me.

"Nope! You'll just have to wait and see," there was no way I was budging.

I was really excited about it. I had found a couple pictures of Cory and Topanga throughout the years. So I decided I was going to paint a few of them on small canvases. My favorite was the one of them on their actual wedding day. It was love like theirs that made me believe that love is possible.

As we approached our apartment building, Riley and I skipped to our apartment on the 4th floor. I've never felt happier to be home. Instantly, I collapsed my body on the couch, leaving Riley with nowhere to sit but the chair. I turned on the TV and we began to catch up on some Netflix--we were watching One Tree Hill for the bagillionth time.

Lucas showed up about a half hour later as promised.

"Riley, is everything okay?! I got here as quick as I could," Lucas asked out of breath.

"Sup, Ranger Rick," I waved a hand in the air to say hello, not even turning around.

Riley got up from the couch.

"Uh-oh. I don't like that look on your face Riley. Whats wrong?" Lucas asked. He sounded really concerned now.

Confused as I am now, I turn around to see Riley trying to walk seductively over to Lucas. I laugh at her attempt. She was definitely her father's daughter.

Before I knew it, Riley was shoving her tongue down a surprised Lucas's throat. And once the shock wore off he was kissing her right back. It was kind of cute, but completely and utterly disgusting. I was happy for them though. I hope tonight helps reassure her relationship for her.

"Yea, Im gonna go now..." my voice trailed off as I hopped off the couch and ran to my room.

Thank god I didn't have to watch that anymore. Haha.

Before I knew it, my phone was out of my pocket, and I was typing Uncle Boing into a new message. All this lovey dovey stuff was putting some sort of spell on me. It was as if my mind was telling me not to, but my heart and fingers were doing a completely different thing.
