A story mostly focused on Joshaya but will contain hints of Corpanga, Rucas, Smarckle, etc. It all starts in the days leading up to the 25th Corpanga wedding anniversary. It takes place some years in the future (Riley, Maya, Farkle, Smackle, and Zay...
Once the elevator doors of our apartment complex opened up to the lobby, Riley and I hurried to the subway because there was so much last minute wedding stuff to do and we didn't want to be late to the first thing on our agenda for the day. Plus, Topanga could be a bit of a bridezilla sometimes.
We didn't talk much on the way to the subway because we were practically running. But when we reached the subway station, it was as if Riley was talking a million words a minute. I couldn't even get a word in if I wanted to.
Riley spoke as if her words were one long thread, "...and ugh I can't wait for the cake. Red Velvet. I mean come on who doesn't love red velvet..."
Josh. That's who. Josh hates red velvet. The thought of the cream cheese ruining a perfectly good cake bothered him. Which is pretty ironic considering Josh is from Philadelphia--and Philadelphia is the cream cheese capital of the world.
I was snapped out of my thoughts by the buzzing and screeching of the subway as it came to a halt in front of us.
"...I really hope my dance with him is special. How about you, Peaches? You looking forward to dancing with anyone?" she asked with a suggestive tone as she nudged my shoulder.
As we walked on the subway I realized she was waiting for me to answer her question. "What? I'm sorry honey. I zoned out. What were you saying?"
Riley looked a little annoyed at first that I wasn't paying attention, but she quickly shifted back to excitement as she reiterated what she said before.
"I said...I can't wait for this wedding to come because it's gonna be the first time Lucas and I go to some public event since getting back together. I can't believe we thought that it would be a good idea to try seeing other people and experience the world. But it's gonna be amazing. Romance. I'll be all dressed up. So will he. He's gonna look so handsome. And I really hope my dance with him is special. And who knows what will happen. Weddings are full of magic. But then again, what if something goes wrong. I don't know what I will do. Ugh. But anyways, anyone you're looking forward to dancing with?" She took a deep breath after her mouthful of words.
I was really hoping she would forget that last part.
"Honey, you and Lucas are gonna have an amazing time on Saturday. There is no doubt. You two love each other; Maybe even as much as the two dorks you call your parents," I said giving her a reassuring smile.
"Fine you're right. But enough about me. What about you Maya? You never answered my question."
There was no getting out of this one.
"Nope. Not really. But maybe I will steal Shawn away from my mom and your dad for long enough to dance."
"Come on Maya that's not who I meant."
"Oh, right. I forgot I promised Auggie I would dance with him at some point in the night," I quickly respond hoping she will give up.
We get off the subway and begin walking at a typical New York City "fast-pace." I pray that we will get to the dress shop soon and we can drop the conversation.
"Peaches...."
"Honey..."
"Thunder!" she said a little louder holding up her finger with the friendship ring on it.
"Lightening," I said in defeat. "But don't you think we are getting too old for this, Riles. We are 22."
"Nope," she laughed.
"Fine. Of course I'm looking forward to dancing with Uncle Boing, but it's been a while he has been living in Florida for and who knows what has changed..." I start.
"Riley, Maya!" Morgan calls to us from behind.
Saved...For now.
"Aunt Morg!" Riley exclaimed, turning back to hug her aunt.
"Hey Morgan! Good to see you again" I say honestly. I am so thankful for her presence right now. I know Riley won't press the issue anymore until we are alone again.
"So how are little Taylor, James, and Nathan?" Riley asked excitedly.
And like a true, stereotypical mom, Morgan whipped out pictures of her three kids from her Michael Kors wallet.

Riley grabbed the pictures from Morgan and she enthusiastically clapped her hands together as she rambled on about how cute they were.
When Riley finally passed the pictures to me, I couldn't help but smile at how much little James looked like Josh when he was little. Especially in the beanie.
I shook the thoughts of Josh out of my head as I opened the jingling door to the dress shop.
