Maya's POV

Many songs and drinks later, the bridal party moved from the bus and went straight to the bridal suite where we were greeted with more drinks and some hors d'oeuvres for us to snack on.

However, despite this special treatment we were receiving, we only had a couple minutes to settle into the suite before we had to go around the grounds of the venue and take MORE pictures.

I swear to god if I have to smile anymore, my lips are gonna fall off.

Josh must've noticed my literal pain from smiling because he was stifling laughs.

"What's so funny?" Riley said through barred teeth.

"She's twitching, her mouth is literally twitching," he said through a smile.

I pressed my lips into a thin line to maintain my smile without bursting into laughter and so I could relax my mouth a little.

"Do you have my lipstick?" Topanga slurred to my mom, breaking her smile and composed look.

The photographer snapped another picture

"Uhhh, no I think it's still in the bridal sui--"

A voice peeked through the door from inside to where we were outside, "I got some you could borrow...It looks like it could just about be your shade."

I looked over to where the voice was coming from and my smile immediately fell; there was no way I was gonna be able to hold it anymore.

The photographer snapped another picture, capturing everyone's reactions to this surprise.

There she was. Angela. She was standing there with a sleek black leather clutch holding a gold tube of lipstick in the air.

Angela's look for the wedding

She looked beautiful. She looked effortlessly beautiful.

My heart suddenly dropped in my stomach.

"Angela!" Topanga shouted. She hurriedly ran up to her, abandoning all of us where we were taking the pictures. Her dress was lifted by her hands so that the hem of the elegant white dress didn't drag against the ground; Topanga suddenly seemed coherent  and sobered up.

The two hugged as they smiled brightly at the company of each other.

I looked over to everyone else to read their reactions.

My mom had strange look on her face...it was similar to the one from earlier today when I had mentioned that Rachel would be my half, step aunt or whatever if her and jack got back together.

I felt uneasy now. Something felt off.

Josh reached for my hand and squeezed it.

For a moment I felt a little better, but then I released his hand when I realized that we were still here in front of everybody and I needed to keep my cool. I needed to be strong and seem unbothered. And I certainly didn't want anybody questioning anything with Josh and I. Especially me and Josh--because we were JUST friends.
